"It is often a relief to be wrong" is among the more startling declarations in the autobiography of the singer-songwriter and founder of the Smiths - Morrissey. Culture and Digital Editor Paul Mason reports.

I've read Moz"s autobiography and I didn't see any self-pity but an accurate description. And a very gifted pen.

balbina viola His pen was not as gifted for his single work of fiction. His only novel was universally panned.

It was good, until the last third. I have no interest in his disputes with the Smiths. Just banging on for a hundred pages was tedious.

Anthony Helm Don’t compare Morrissey and John Lennon. Morrissey is by far the better singer and lyricist. It isn’t even close.

Travis Carver let me get this straight... so you’re saying that morrissey is better than lennon because they’re good at doing what they do? lennon and moz are equally good

what did Johnny Marr do after The Smiths? face it Morrissey is The Smiths
@osbournerudock85876 жыл бұрын
Booji Boy Total bullshit. Marr wrote the music, without which there would have been no Smiths songs - just words, and very likely no one would have heard of Morrissey. Likewise, if Marr had never met Morrissey then possibly he would just be a very successful session musician. What made Smiths so special was the combination of Moz's lyrics and Marr's music - one of the most fortuitous writing partnerships in history. To say that either one 'was the Smiths' is utterly moronic.

They actually carried on for a while. Andy Mike and Craig Gannon play on 2 of the first singles Morrissey as a solo artist put out. Last of the international playboys and Interesting Drug. They also played the first Morrissey solo gig at Wolverhampton on 23rd December 1988. Morrissey then moved on and went from strength to strength whilst Johnny joined The The.
