Let's face it...everyone would make music like Morrisey if they could. He expresses what everyone of us...including you haters...have felt at one time or another...He lyrics are timeless.

What you said is so true!! And I have been a fan for decades also. Its a strange phenomenon that his songs can inspire us in ways that we might not expect. Some call it depressing but its revealing. And gives us hope that we who are suffering in one way or another have someone who comisserates. We need it now more than ever!

Well said SW. I grew up with the Smiths and had the priviledge of seeing them live a number of times when they were at their peak. As a teen they spoke into the core and as an adult just as much. Morrisey is a genius; he can say the things we want to say but can't find the words - he does it for us.

This is the simplest and prettiest song I've heard since 'There is a Place...'. A heartachingly beautiful plea for for us all to treat each other decently, gently; for we are all inside as fragile as snowflakes and not long for this world. How many precious things are brutally crushed and swept to dust through our everyday thoughtless self obsession. We all need love and connection. And this poem by our Hero of the Lovelorn is a mini manifesto for the lonely and the small.

Back again…I guess I will always end up coming back to this sad yet beautiful song. Thank you…as always…for the words Moz. You’re music and your words have always been my one constant and true friend throughout my life. I don’t know what I would do without you. I guess I’ll never learn…but I am hoping the cruelty, pain and hurt I have woken up to over the past five years will finally come to an end now…Maybe I will be able to regain what I let go of so many years ago…I just want to be happy again. I’m so tired of being scared, embarrassed and humiliated. No one deserves to be mistreated. If someone hurts you…they can not possibly love you…no matter how many times they say it. I hope I have the strength to finally close this chapter of my life for good. ❤🙏 #WhatdoesntkillUmakesUstronger

... I also relate to what the poster (wish I could reply directly, damn this new KZbin lol) said about fighting for someone that didn't fight for you. Painful. As for nice... "Nice" is hardly ever respected or appreciated. Shame. People think its being "fake", but what if you're a genuinely good hearted person? I think you can be "nice" and still have an interesting personality. To me, when someone shows me kindness and "niceness", its the greatest gift of all. Sorry for the novel, just a new Morrissey fan who loves this song :-)

What a heartbreaking song! These lyrics really get to me though I was the meanie in the story. I had someone who loved me and trusted me, and I abused him. Shame on me! But it wasn't out of pure evil. I just was stupid and insecure. I wasn't comfortable in my own skin, I didn't love myself so I couldn't love anyone else. Kids, don't ever make the same mistake that I did, it will come back and haunt you for years! And also learn to forgive yourselves and others, we're only human :(
