I like how how you showed us exactly the different suspensions, the old one n new one
@Fudgieguys19695 жыл бұрын
I just upgraded my suspension with the MORryde CRW3000 with the upgraded shackle kit. I was like you, I went to my local RV dealer where I got my trailer because I have had tremendous service with this local dealer. I am about to take a month on the road and wanted to have this done before I left. I have traveled twice last year when I first got the new TT and went to Colorado and had no issues, but the ride on some roads where rough. So I am confident with the installation of the MORryde CRW3000 upgrade will make my trip more comfortable for sure. I know on high end TT or 5th wheels the manufacture installs the MORryde CRE3000 suspension. I just don't understand why all manufactures don't do this. Yes I purchased the kit at Amazon because my service manager told me to do that due to their pricing on the parts was way over what I wanted to pay. The labor is what it is in the RV industry, but I am very pleased with the install.

@Markisuncfan5 жыл бұрын
really good vid. I am glad to see you put Goodyear Endurance tires on in place of the may pops chinese tires. Which ever TT I buy, the what I call chinesium tires will be off before I roll out of the dealer's lot. Safety first. I have witnessed way too many accidents in 20 yrs of being a trucker....retired now thankfully. I put the Endurances on my single axle bass boat earlier this yr after alot of people's talk about them. Much much better tires on my heavy bass boat.

I just put this on my 30' 5th wheel a couple months ago. Great upgrade! Also added about 1" of lift, which I was looking for.
@Ultrafrozen5 жыл бұрын
With the 3" of travel on the CRE3000, do you think it will squat lower when hitting bumps? The reason I ask is my tires already hit the underside of the trailer floor and I'm afraid I'll lose clearance compared to stock.
@OOMAN5 жыл бұрын
@@Ultrafrozen They have a guide on their website for minimum clearance measurements that they recommend you do before installing the CRE3000. If you are already hitting the bottom of your trailer, you may want to have your springs checked. They may be worn out and sagging, causing a loss of clearance. I can't believe that they would be rubbing on the bottom unless something is wrong/worn out. The CRE3000 added about an inch of lift, but the additional 3" of travel (+1.5" up and +1.5" down) is more than you gain with the lift. I would recommend taking it to a reputable trailer shop and have your springs, hangers, shackles, bushings, and any other suspension components inspected.

I had my original HD Shackles, wet bolts and equalizers done 3 years ago at McCleod Spring and Chassis in Barre VT in 2 hours.

@@WanderingWeekends 7 seasons and maybe 30-40k miles. I replaced the 2200 lb 4 leaf with 3200 lb 6 leaf spring packs. Fiver is about 2" higher now.
BTW, my old springs had gone flat and tires were hitting the undercarriage. They were way past their shelf life. Had I known, I would have replaced them and the axles with heavier ones after 3 or 4 years. The originals were not adequate for the GVWR and most are not. RVs are built for weekenders.

I enjoyed your video and included a link in my reply below to a total suspension upgrade blog. While you got a fair deal on your installation, I've found that spring shops that fix working trucks and trailers to be much better and more reasonable than RV shops that cater to us "rich" folks (I wish) who are enjoying luxurious vacations. Atlanta RV seems to be an exception.

in the video where you show the partially completed install, it shows the wet bolts (with the zerks) facing outward. i don't think that would work, as you need to grease the zerks and it would be difficult to do, with the tires mounted. Shouldn't the zerks be installed on the inside?

@@WanderingWeekends Thanks for the reply and the vid. I did call them and they don't keep model data. Just gave me their sizing sheet. I'm spot on except that dim. Then there is the whole other "poor/bad springs" topic to consider... Thanks again.
@OOMAN5 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. I have plenty of wheel well clearance since I "flipped" the axles and got 6" of lift. What you're going to have to do is see how much clearance you have at full upward suspension travel, then add an inch for the lift the CRE3000 gives you and subtract 1.5" for the additional travel it gives you. That's going to leave you with 1/2" less clearance than you currently have. If you're close already, I would check with a trailer shop to see if they can add a leaf spring to lift it up, or do some other sort of lift to give you a bit more clearance before installing something like this.

I haven't heard of anyone wearing them out yet. Morryde does have a schematic on when to replace the rubber bushing so I know they'll wear with time but it'll be 10's of thousands miles and then it'll just be a bushing replacement, not the entire setup. Lemme know if you hear a mileage estimate. Would be great info to have.

@@WanderingWeekends Here's the response I got from Ashley(awesome rep) at Morryde Customer Service about the rubber bushing, and there is also a crossmember brace available for the CRE3000 series as well..."Thank you for your inquiry. The rubber shear spring on the inside of the equalize is not replaceable. The whole equalizer would need to be replaced if something were to happen. The springs last anywhere from 7-15 years. Yes, there is a X-Factor crossmember available for the CRE3000 system. The part number is UO21-003. That is if you do not have a Correct Track Hanger system on the end of your frame hangers. That is an alignment system identified by an octagon-shaped piece. I have attached a picture of what that looks like.
