Morse Code 10 WPM: The Science of Getting Rich - Chapter 2

In my opinion: Investing has more to do with human nature than with balance sheets. Mastering investor psychology self discipline is more fruitful than learning to read stock charts.
So how have I trained myself to ignore the media noise and stay focused? One method is to control my thoughts through mindfulness. No, I’m not into any trendy Zen Yoga, I'm too nerdy for all that. But I do believe in clarifying one’s mind…through focused thought.
One technique I use is to practice Morse code. It’s a form of mental exercise, much like solving a crossword puzzle or Sudoku. I realize it’s not for everyone, but that’s ok, use what works for you.

It has been 40 years, but I can still pick out some letters. I never got above novice because of the morse code hurdle. I know they did away with it.

Your video is a big and positive surprise: I came for the Morse Code and am now intrigued by the text. ** Speeding up the code while lengthening the pauses would be my dream scenario, TBH.

I achieved my novice class ham license in 1970 and general class in 1972. It's strange how Morse Code stays with me after so many years! Other things don't ha! I would practice only sometimes in my mind over the years, for fun. I forgot to renew my General class after 48 years, so sad to lose it. A few months ago I had CoVid19 in early November 2020, a moderate case, but since then I experienced, and seems suddenly after the illness, greater loss in memory, and for a short time right now with this video I had to remember certain Morse Code letters again. Also in general, while writing, common words I had forgotten how to spell, or fumbled with it. It came back to me, but noticed the strange difference. I think CoVid19 can effect memory. I lost my sense of smell for a few months too. Hope all are well. Thanks John for all the work it must have been to create this fine practice video!

I am 82 years old and I can relate to everything you say I’ve picked up my amateur radio is the only thing that I can do my fingers are still numb I can’t handle any things but my brain is still working fine I am going to use code to be on the radio I do have trouble with my spelling too so I’ll have to spell wristlets was real slow with a Handke thank you so much for what you’ve done for me take care bye-bye

@@markknudsen7733 Hi Mark! Nice of you to write! Sorry your fingers are numb from CoVid19! I was fortunate that didn't happen to me. Maybe it will return as my sense of smell did. That's nice you didn't let your license expire. I was going to study for my General Class, but I suppose they won't let me take it and I'd have to take the General Class first. I don't like the idea of having to start again as a novice, then for the General Class have to study theory again and reading schematics, plus losing my old call sign. I feel bad about it all, but in essence I am the one who chooses to be unhappy as happiness comes from within. I wonder if you should get an automatic side type of a mores code key as you said the hand/wrist basic key would be maybe harder with numb fingers. It was funny when I was a ham more than once the guy on the other end would not believe I was using a basic hand key. I got the Rag Chewers award, and passed ARRL W1AW code test at 18wpm... but that was years ago. Maybe I had good coordination for a hand key as when I was 11 I started learning 3 different picking styles for guitar. 73's!

I don't remember but yes probably around 600, sometimes I go even lower down to 400ish.
