Hello Sandy, love the video. Great bit of DX, I was expecting to see the Butternut in the garden but what a pleasant surprise. I see you were prepared with your camping knife at the ready. Best wishes D

Ichy made a lot of mistakes but didn’t correct for them or indicate errors. Is this normal? I was taught to always acknowledge my error and resend. Thanks

When all else fails or the grid/system/society/internet/mobiles etc etc etc breaks down this'll be one of the last reliable communicaes to use when everyone else is faffing around not even knowing what morse is, let alone not being able to live without web based social networking sites. A skill to keep honed m8 !NICEONE!! :-) Pete

NG9D Hi Lyn, how are you doing? Conditions were good and infact have worked lots of DX so far this year including 2 qso's to VK which from here is very good. Hope to qso one of these days. I am mainly active on 80M qrq CW anywehere from 35 to 55wpm!! It's fun. 73 Sandy

Wiltshire Man That would be great fun, but you would have to apply the brakes: I can't go that fast. I am playing with vertical antennas now. I made a 10-20m vertical from a 16' telescopic aluminum pool cleaning brush handle. Now I am working on an elevated 15m ground plane vertical made from a 12 ft aluminum painters extention pole. I have two of those painters poles, - maybe I could phase them and point at the UK? Too much fun. :) Thanks again for all your great videos Sandy! 73 Lynn

Enjoyed listening to the cw Sandy. You are right, when the condx are there you can work the world with the simplelest of antenna's. Zl with indoor loft antenna springs to mind, all very satisfying :-) 73 Steve, de mm0sgq.

A little bird told me that Wiltshireman and "others" may soon be making a rather long nature radio video. The good thing is that no one will read this comment :-) I'm looking forward to it. I must go and practice some straight key...... 7 3 de.....

good you added subtitles for the NO CODES out there. sad, but we have NO CODES in the United States bec of lax FCC regulations. means we get HAMS not dedicated enough to the hobby to learn code. worse than that, others even less dedicated remain at the BEGINNER level (technician) of our licenses forever. hobby be dead as we know it if it were left up to these hams.

The world hasn't caved in because CW is not a requirement. Since CW has been dropped around the world more and more folk are taking it up.
@ScottAReid10 жыл бұрын
Ade Larsen no1 said the world would "cave in." lol. yes, dropping the code brings in more hams, but more is not always better. did help the manufacturers sell more radios though and i think that was a big issue in dropping the code!
