Morskie Oko - Tatra Mountains | Hiking the most famous trail in Poland

We hiked to Morskie Oko Lake, the most famous trail in Poland, as well as to the amazing Valley of Five Polish Lakes! The raw beauty of the Polish Tatra Mountains in the Tatra National Park will definitely amaze you!

-Trail start: Palenica Białczańska,

@@szejkox It showed 20km for me in Komoot and it took 9 hours. Took lot of breaks to enjoy the terrific views on top. I realized this is the best direction for this route and not the reverse.

I reckon it would be wonderful in April, still with some snow on the ground.. i think the lake morskie oko will be accessible but some trails might still be impassable due to the snow

Yes, you are right, snow on the high Tatra peaks remains until mid-July and the trails are hard. You need to be more experienced and have the right equipment to go there. But Morskie Oko is safe all year long.

Thanks! 😀😀 we hiked for about 21-22km that day, making the round from the Palenica Białczanska parking, Morskie Oko, Five Polish Lakes, and then back to the parking lot.. start early and book the parking ticket in advance via internet, otherwise it might sell out very fast 😅😅

To reach to the lake and lovely sightings is it a long walk distance? Like can old people reach there without getting tired? Can a car drop you in a near place?

Hey there. To walk only to the lake Morskie Oko it's mostly flat and i'm pretty sure old people with reasonable condition can do it. And there's also horsedrawn cart service to bring you from the car park to near the lake if you'd prefer that 😀 I hope you can do it soon!

Can this be done in a day? if I want to go to the 5 lakes alone are there directions across and easy to find your way around? How long to do it from start to finish? I want to catch the evening bus back to Krakow.

Hey2, yes it is possible to be done in a day. Start very early (say around 6-7am), and you can get to the 5 lakes and back before the evening. If you have time we strongly suggest to drop by Morskie Oko lake as well, it's very beautiful. There are clear signposts throughout the trail, no worries of getting lost 🙂

I mean start hiking there around 7am 😅 We stayed in Zakopane when we did the hike, so it was quite close. But if you stay in Krakow it might be a bit tricky since it's quite far 😬 If you do start from Krakow and only have the day, maybe it's better to go to Morskie Oko since it is a shorter hike and the view is just as great! 😀😀

Hey, i don't think bicycles are allowed on the trail there. You can probably leave your bike at the parking lot and hike to the lake 🙂

Yes, we would say so.. the path is clearly marked and there are always people walking by since it's a popular route.. 🙂
