Emperor Rain and Empress Tanya were the best part of this DLC imo. Their conversations about their timeline just makes me imagine what they been through going up against Evil Li Mei and Reiko. I also like to imagine what their reign was like and their devotion to one another. R.I.P. emperor rain and long live Empress Tanya :(

I liked Rain, Tanya was way too basic & stereotypical, also her being able to speak with the dragon in that goofy language made me cringe so hard, another retcon since the dragons in Armageddon didn’t speak telepathically & they never had a “ancient language”, they just spoke English.

Liu Kang should be able to restore Bi-Han, one of two ways: 1. Using the Ginsei at the sky temple. 2. Go the route of Ultimate MK3. Splitting Bi-Han's soul, having classic Subzero, and Noob Saibot.

Different, he pull his parts back and put there again using magik, and he can construct his body parts again at a cost of stamina, but he created 30 clones and had his parts ripped out 10x then he got exausted and couldn't remake himself again.

That ending was very underwhelming. How in the hell Noob was able to basically One Shot Havik. A version of Havik that is a Titan AND has the ALL the Kamidogu???? This makes absolutely no sense AT ALL. Then you put Havik’s death off screen? Why didn’t they show what they did with him?

Orginally back 98 I think Bi han defeated all earthrealm gods but raiden, then he travels to netherrealm and defeated scorpion, quan chi and shinnok while in possession of amulet, after timeline renewed he become weak, lost to sonya and basically everyfight, when liu kang made him again he made him strong he could defeat 5 guys in a row but not even close to his original strength after all he lost to Cyrax, then havik made him him again but close to his original potential and even more, old noob saibot wasn't that strong he always lost to everyone, because quan chi made him weaker because of that, he was the only one who wasn't restored in netherrealm as corrupted like his brother he become something new. But anyway I think he won because he knew havik and chaos. Personally I would prefer the history to make Noob Saibot the new titan in chaos realm, I think liu kang was scaried because he lost to havik and noob saibot won, had he killed a titan noob would absorb the titan power just like liu kang did with kronika.

I think it needs to go back to simpler stories and the “timeline” thing should take a backseat now. We’ve seen all that we needed to see with the main game so everything after just feels like filler. They should bring Onaga and perhaps an emperor Shao Kahn back and for the sake of not treading on old ground again, just reintroduce Sonya and Jax and the special forces so we can have them in the mix in the next game along with the shaolin monks, netherealmers and outworlders.

Titan havik with kamidogu got destroyed by noob and he be chopping him like tofu make havik seem so freaking weak. If Noob's mk1 ending is to be believed, there is no Sub-zero anymore in this continuity. Kuai is Scorpion so no one can fill the spot. But....Hanzo is here in this universe. As a kid. I doubt they'd keep him just for cutscenes as the guy was and still is one of, if the not most popular character in the game. So here me out, I think they are setting up Hanzo to become Sub-zero. Liu Kang already switched him out, who's to say that he didn't just remove Hanzo from the role, but gave him one he saw fit? Now I think it could go that his rage becomes coldness and cruelty as he becomes the titular character, but then ends up becoming a better Sub-zero than Bi-han. Essentially, I think they tryna pull a Damian Wayne.

Yep I agree with most of the comments, this is a sh*t aftermath. 1. There was no fixed goal on what the plot is really supposed to be. Although the premise is all about dealing with Titan Havik or about the renewed conflict between Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei, neither were given much thought and consideration in fact the latter was already done by the first act while the other wasnt entirely focused on until the end. 2. Although understandable they were new characters, Noob, Cyrax and Sektor should not have been the focus of the story. We are talking about a story of a conflict between timelines yet all we were given focus to was Bi-Han's petty ego or Cyrax and Sektor's early, immature rivalry while at the same time cutting short other characters like Emperor Rain to insignificance. Speaking of other characters... 3. There should have been more characters used besides the 3 DLC fighters I mentioned. The only exception included were Rain and Tanya, given if you never selected them during the last chapter of the main story you wouldnt ever use them at all. But there were so many characters to look forward here potentially that not only benefits them but also can extend the plot. We couldve had Takeeda joining the fray, giving an explanation how he was included in the Shirai Ryu plus a confirmation that he is now Kenshi's cousin, not his son anymore also Quan Chi and Ermac too could have been redeemed plot-wise as well. And finally 4. The story was way too rushed to the point almost none of it makes sense. As I previously mentioned, they could have expanded the story by including more characters with their own arcs but given the one we are given, its safe to say we might as well not expect much since the story didnt make any sense at all. How was Noob Saibot able to beat a titan, whether or not he had Liu Kang as a backup ally? Or how was Orin suddenly so easy to approach? What happened to all the traps Havik promised to be lethal? Was it only lethal enough to kill off Emperor Rain? And about him, why kill him off so early just so what, his wife Empress Tanya can shine when she can still do it with him alive? And what happened to the usual there is more to the story of Mortal Kombat after a mission formula that worked so well in the previous Mortal Kombat games since 9? Overall, Im just so disappointed about wtf did I waste 2 hours of my life is in this sh*thole

I cant believe how lazy this story is. We got like 4 moments when you fight the same enemies twice. Sub becomes Noob, and we won,t see him for another hour. He is evil for 5 minutes, and thanks to Liu he becomes sort of lawful evil guy. He one shots Havik being basically Thanos knock off. How badly the NRS want to sink MK universe and turn into a lazy mess full of resetting the story, timelines etc.?

Just taking notes. 9:34 They let a lot of people die before deciding to stop the Lin Kuei. Also, I think part of what made scorpion's wife and child being killed more impactful is that they were innocent and not directly involved in the Lin Kuei Shirai Ryu conflict. Making her a fighter in this timeline and then her not dying seems kind of silly unless Scorpion himself was the one saving her, something he would have loved to do in another timeline. 20:25 ...what? They waited too long to do anything and then they show up acting like they did most of the work. Baby most of the wedding party was dead before y'all started fighting. Of course they were turned away. They did what they needed to do. That and didn't Sub Zero and Sistor leave? 22:19 Yeah break the cycle of violence in a fighting game. Mileena made a valid point. Offering General Shao mercy didn't quell the uprising he created, it only postponed the inevitable once he broke out. A non-violent stance sounds nice and all, but it's clear that it hasn't worked in this timeline. Liu Kang is starting to sound like Kronika. Obsessed with achieving a perfect outcome and failing at every turn. Also 22:34 happens and makes everything Liu Kang said moot. I guess he expects Mileena to just take this laying down too. 24:20 Geras, my boy, you have time freeze powers. Why are you just standing there? 33:03 Geras struggling. Why though? 25:58 Quan Chi's design here is nice. Very Hellraiser inspired and different. Not all of the Khaos designs are as distinct. 50:08 I loath this "humanizing sector" thing they're attempting to do. Sector is supposed to be Cyrax's commanding officer and trainer and lied to her for no other reason but to advance herself. That isn't her being misunderstood. That's her being a villain. Her having feelings for Sub-Zero doesn't negate that she's a villain so lets stop pretending like she's this 3-dimensional person with complicated reasons for her actions. This story mode is all over the place. Tanya can read the minds of dragons, Orin is a female because of course she is, Sub Zero becomes even more buck broken once he turns into Noob, and Rain dies for no reason. Really, why didn't Noob get the same chance at redemption that Cyrax got? This story mode really was just a showcase for Cyraxia and Sistor. Everyone else was just a side character to advance their stories.

In regards to the Lin Kuei leaving because they'd completed their task... no they didn't. They went there to kill Kuai Liang (Scorpion) and Tomas (Smoke). They left with not only that mission incomplete, but about half of their own number killed or captured, including their Master Armorer (Sektor) and Grandmaster (Sub-Zero), to say nothing of Cyrax going traitor. All other points.... yeah fair enough.

No one is pretending Sektor is a 3-dimensional character, not even the game itself. And why is Orin being a female an issue? And Noob not getting a redemption while Cyrax does is because Cyrax has actually shown to have a moral compass, whereas Bi-Han only cares about power and nothing else.

Based on this story expansion and the arcade endings, maybe NetherRealm studios is getting ready for the arrival of Onaga. Maybe even having one from another Timeline, gathering every timelines kamidogu to completely destroy or reset the realms and timelines. At least, that's my theory.

So the Tanya we see in the base game is good. She is a member of the Umgadi, basically Outworld's elite army who serve the Outworld royal family This Empress Tanya we see in the DLC is also good. She is from another timeline where her and Emperor Rain were rulers of Outworld

Original names for these ladies; hornet and dagger. The story could've been better if dagger (red female ninja) killed sektor and Cyrax with a falsified story that Liu Kang betrayed them while hornet (yellow) discover the truth.

They didn't focus on Scorpion(Kuai Liang). It would have been more fun to see the combat skills of Kuai Liang and also, the clan Shirai Ryu. Like really what they have done to Scorpion the previous Mk9,MK10 AND MK11 had so much badass scenes of Scorpion and his appearance

While I liked this expansion, I feel like it could use some work. For one, it feels a bit rushed, and that makes certain moments feel more forced. Cyrax learning the truth, for example, didn’t feel as organic as it did, especially since they spent so long just standing there and talking, and I personally would’ve had the Lin Kuei be captured, and Cyrax learns the truth about Bi-Han’s corruption in the maze scene. Rain’s death also felt lackluster. We didn’t get enough time with him, and yet his death clearly wants us to feel for him. And this may be a minor nitpick, but knowing that the main timeline’s Rain can drown an entire city, having this Rain die to compressing walls just feels pathetic. If Rain absolutely needed to die, I felt like it would’ve been better if as the gang was getting ready to escape, Havik ambushes them, and Rain stays to fight them back, giving the gang time to escape. Last stands are really cool and having Rain’s death here would give us more time to bond with the character. Outside of that, I really liked this. And while I may not buy the game now, I will once the expanded version comes out.
