That's WB and NRS's fault. The game was a disaster at launch. Not only that, but the game had a disastrous launch after Mortal Kombat 11, a game a lot of people already hated. That game left a bad taste in people's mouths, and then comes Mortal Kombat 1 to put the cherry on top of the shit cake. It's not the communities fault Mortal Kombat 1 may be a dead game. Blame that on the people who made it and released it. The game may be in a much better state today, but it's far too late. The damage has been done and irreparable.

I think the main MK roster is one of the greatest all time, but as a kasual player, I really don’t want to be forced to use the kameo system to have damage/combos. Also when I first started out I realized IMMEDIATELY how little content there was and felt ripped off. And invasions is possibly the worst mode ever created. All I know is, I will only be interested in a Shaolin monks 2 where I won’t buy until it is the komplete edition so I don’t feel scammed.

I refuse to believe that MK1 is cancelled, I’m aware of FateUnknown is a Huge Deal, but even though I’m trying to be optimistic and hopeful, I’m also realistic, I don’t know how to feel about this, I’m still hoping we get more MK1 content but seeing this is like if Wolverine Gut Punch with his Claws, Also TrueUnderDawg said that Ed and NRS kinda confirmed that their next Game isn’t in Development so how would this even Work? Still I would love loved to see Jade, Sonya, Kano, Kung Jin, and Cassie Playable with a Guest Character as a Love Letter, I would literally pay money for this with the 2nd Story Expansion, No Joke or Cap, look I’m not sugarcoating this, I know where there’s a Win Lose Situation when it comes to stuff like this, I’m just Hoping and Praying that maybe just maybe there’s something that will Benefit Us Fans as a Win, even if KP3 and the Story Expansion is cancelled, there should be a Ultimate Edition in the Works, this is something that should happen at least.

Honestly man, I've been disappointed with the direction Mortal Kombat has been going since the MK1 official trailer dropped. Timelines, same old boring story mode chapter system, boring fatalities, over saturated art style, watered down customization and Kameo system have been such a big turn off for me. I was even disappointed with the Khaos Reigns story mode, didn't even finish it. I hope the next MK Title isn't for a long time, and is another reboot without any relation to the current story

I think the game has a lot of BS, no doubt about it, but it is definitely overhated. Kombat Pack 1 was a huge success, they were able to bring characters into the game like Omni-Man or Homelander that I would never have expected to see in a Mortal Kombat game, and the implementation and appearance of the characters is just great. The combo possibilities with the cameos and how fluid and enjoyable the game plays is in my opinion the best thing Netherrealm has ever done. I hope the leaks are fake, I love MK1, please keep supporting it.

There’s no reason to stop MK1 support to start working on MK2. Also, you go out of your way to forgive NRS when all the decisions that f-ed this game was theirs. They chose the kameo style, they chose the bad character balancing, they chose the shitty story line and characters.
