I love the direction they gave for new era Mileena. She now truly deserves to rule in the throne. In original era, after Kitana’s death in Deadly Alliance, Mileena pretends to be Kitana in Deception to lead Kitana’s army. In reboot era (Raiden’s vision), Mileena had matured during the aftermath but she not fit to rule Outworld without Shao Kahn to aid her as she is betrayed by all. In new era (Liu Kang’s restart era), she is now more of a person, and eventually is able to control her disease and uses it to her advantage during a big struggle especially if anyone is going to her friends and family. The short interaction between her and Johnny Cage when admiring his drone was something I would never expect the two to converse each other. And I am loving the idea of her fighting against Dark Sindel especially since last era Mileena has not interacted with Sindel at all.

Gosh, this ending and Baraka's were so satisfying. Though I enjoyed how post-9 Mileena played (especially in 10), I never thought much of her or Baraka as characters, since their personalities always seemed a bit one-note. Baraka had his arm blades, and Mileena was ironic fanservice (especially with the way she was portrayed in some magazine advertisements for earlier games, many years ago). I was SUPER happy with what 12 / "1" did with both of their stories.

Either there's a huge stockpile of the stuff or somehow she managed to hire another alchemist who can concoct it. I remember this one dream I had when in an after Mileena became empress after Sindel’s death, Mileena made me General of her Army and we grew so close to eachother when we were training and spent so much time together, we became a romantic couple and eventually got married. Then sometime after that, we found a cure for her condition and it was removed from her permanently. And we had two children together (1 boy and 1 girl), then 30 years later we fought against an invasion we we’re called to for Earthrealm to aid Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Scorpion, Smoke, Geras, Kenshi, and Johnny Cage. The battle was so gruesome and it turns out Ex-General Shao was leading the invasion, I fought against him until he embedded me on a tree, but before Shao could finish me, Mileena kills Shao by decapitating him with my sword that I dropped when Shao grabbed my by my neck and before he impaled me on tree. And Mileena runs to my side and cuts the tree and I was free but it was too late as I was already dying from my injuries and Mileena and the others (including our children, Jerrod and the Heroes of Earthrealm) came to me, Jerrod and the children came by my side and I appointed my son as the new General of the army which Mileena approved and everyone else. My daughter tells me I can’t go and I tell them “I’m sorry my daughter and my son it is already too late. I love you all.” And I turn to Mileena and I say “And I love you Mileena.” And Mileena says “I love you too Sean.” And then I said “So, this is what it feels like.” Mileena then starts crying and shedding tears as well as our son and daughter as I died from my wounds and Mileena caresses my head saying my name and Jerrod then takes my soul and I was then safe along with Sindel. I was then buried in a casket and a statue was made to honor me in Outworld. It was the best dream ever.
