Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath Ending. The Shang Tsung ending to Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath DLC. At the end of the DLC you are given a choice between Fire God Liu Kang and Shang Tsung to play in the final battle. This is the Shang Tsung ending choice. I find this ending a bit flat, I understand that its going to have a big impact but it was a little underwhelming.

Loved Shangs dialogue throughout the game in aftermath , he kept his sarcasm within "sometimes" genuine compliments so he could look trustworthy enough to team with. And in the face of danger he looked like he was in full control which makes marks for the perfect villain. Brilliant acting and writing

Liu kang in mk9 - is angry about raiden allowing earthrealmers to die (sacrifice) ,which was not in raiden's power to kill the incredibly strong shao kahn. Liu kang in mk11- sacrifices his allies and allows shang tsung to get the crown even if he could've showed minutes before shang tsung wears the crown, or when fujin and shang tsung get the crown. The end result here- , now I've realized this ending makes more sense than good one..unfortunately there would be no mk if this ending was Canon, and this ending is just a what if scenario.

Liu Kang devising a cold-blooded plan actually makes perfect sense as he is now a god. Gods, naturally, have a less attached perspective on things in the MK universe, so making a temporary sacrifice of everyone he knows and loves for the sake of ultimate victory falls perfectly in line with his character development. Even though, for those sacrificed, the damage was very real and pure torment, since he knows it will all get erased anyway, it doesn't matter to him as much as victory.

Here is a starting point I have in mind: After Liu Kang sends Shang Tsung, Fujin and Nightwolf into the correct timeline, Quan Chi, Kenshi and Li Mei arrive at the dawn of time with a warning of how things will play out. Then the three of them get sent to the past right at the beginning of the time merger. That's all I have right now. But how does that sound?

Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa did such an outstanding job playing Shang Tsung after all these years that I picked him without a second of hesitation! 3:50 GIVE ME THAT SOUL! GIVE ME THAT NICE JUICY, SALTY SOUL! To me this is the canon ending, One thing that always bothers me about aftermath is it seems like Lui Kang would obviously lose to Shang Tsung in the final battle... Fire God Lu Kang > Kronica, even though he canonically lost a round so he is at most equal to her Shang Tsung absorbed the powers of Kronica Raiden Fujin Sindel(powers elder gods are even weak too) Shao Kahn(who laughed off an attack from all six elder gods) Shouldn’t the winner be obvious? Lu Kang let EVERYONE die so he could bet EVERYTHING on a fight with Shang Tsung....he deserves to lose! (MK1 retroactively solved this issue. The timeline split essentially means that all of Shang Tsung’s buffs went to one version while the other only had the crown and thus lost to Lui Kang who now had more experience with his god powers)

Sindel Also Had Shang Tsung own Power Because Shao Kahn Used His Whole Being to Power Up Sindel Immensely so Shang Tsung Reabsorbed his Own Power too. The Shao Kahn he absorbed was His Powered by the Soul Chamber though not as Strong as His Later Mk9 Version

A cool storyline for MK12 would be have both ending be true. Liu Kangs ending was something he did without the crown. He couldn't restart time completely but he simply went back to the era of the great Kung Lao so he can train him to fight against Shang Tsung timeline. Chaos realm could also be featured and even assist in the resistance since it was yet to be conquered and Geras was sent there who by his words is beyond time. With Haviks power, Geras and Liu Kang find a way to beat ST but ofc Geras will have his own agenda as well as Havik.

You are more correct than you realize. Shang Tsung, according to his "Ladder Ending" anyway, understands that it's best he works from behind the scenes. He lets others do his bidding. Therefore, his servants can be defeated, reasoned with, eventually even be made to turn on Shang Tsung himself. Thus, the cycle of Kombat can continue.

If plot armour didn't exist, Shang Tsung would have one-shotted FG Liu Kang.

Not gonna lie this face off is pretty epic. I don't think Shang Tsung has ever been an actual equal to Lui Kang before. More of an obstacle for him to overcome not an enemy to think of as an equal. Seeing them take part in Final Kombat has never been so high as it was here. It's very fitting it these two deciding the very fabric of time.

I really hope this ending is Canon for mk 12 because although I'm a Liu Kang fan I'm sick and tired of him always winning it's shang Sung's time to shine. As long as Cary tagawa is voicing shang sung I will always buy the mortal Kombat games. Shao Khan is cool too along with Melina, kitana, Lui Kang,Johnny cage,Sonya blade(not Ronda boring Rousey's version) Cassie cage,sindel,ermac,reptile,sub zero,scorpion,rain, sector,cyrax,jade,Kano, and many more.

I think Kang's ending is Canon for MK12. Shang's ending is Canon if they do another MK11 expansion. I think Fujin and Liu already had a plan intact in case Shang betrayed them. Liu had already seen possible outcomes in his short time with the hour glass after defeating Kronika. Shang has not become Supreme ruler just yet because he's still conquering realms. Not only that, but he has Raiden and Fujin doing the conquering. So, not everything bends to his will. It also leaves the question of why didn't Shang Tsung restart time. Also, why can't Raiden be erased? Kronika, the Titan wasn't able to do it and apparently neither was Shang Tsung. Also, why is he Dark Raiden again? They also didn't kill off everyone. The Revanants were still existing, which means their human counterparts weren't killed in Kombat. Revenant Liu Kang fell victim to his human counterpart having his legs smashed at the hands of Shao Kahn. Shang Tsung's ending leaves room for all kinds of possibilities.

But I am bias she's one of my favorites. But I over all legitimately loved aftermath. It looked great, the game is fun , the story was still captivating I think they did an ok job. I personally would have preferred a single ending or even a cliff hanger. Over the split choose your fate. It's just creating more work to please a now divided shang vs Kang which reality will we go with for mk 12 cuz 50 % are not gonna be Happy if we don't pick their fav choice. 🤷🏽‍♂️ I dunno I'm Stoned af. I like it if will be two cannon storyline for next MK games: 1. Following Liu Kang ending will be more like MK Conquest TV Series storyline with characters such as Great Kung Lao, Siro, Taja, old Lin Kuei, Shirai Ryu, Black Dragon, etc 2. Following Shang Tsung ending will be Shang Tsung (now conquer Earthrealm-Netherrealm-Outworld-Edenia) invasion to Chaosrealm and Orderrealm with characters such as Havik, Hotaru, Dairou, and Darrius

the thing is, this timeline would never be permanent. his goal is conquering and domination of the realms. which would either result in the one being coming back and threaten to overthrow him as keeper of time. or individual actions which he cannot control will eventually give rise to something that would cause his defeat. if time was so all powerful, kronika would not be defeated.

I think Og Mk Timeline Raiden was Smarter than That Timeline version of Himself . In Mk Deception Konquest Mode He Tells Shujinko That Shang Tsung is a Crafty Sorceror and has Tricks and Schemes and that he monitors the Tournament's Proceedings'.
