Mortal Kombat 2 - Kung Lao Playthrough

Finally got this out of the way. Kung Lao is a great choice in 1 vs 1, in single player mode however - well I'm still learning how to play him from Player 1 side.

I like it when you jump kick the opponent then follow with an immediate Dive kick like you did on Raiden Round 2. Great Kung Lao Ladder Run buddy - knowing you it was probably on default difficulty as well. I get my ass kicked with Kung Lao at several points going up the ladder against A.I. But like you said - He's great in VS but not so great in Single Player. Good video.

There was a strategy guide for this game released by Prima I think... Each character had strengths and weaknesses listed under their bio. I remember Kung Lao's weaknesses: "Kung Lao has no weaknesses. Be careful when playing against a skilled player!"

Miss those guides. I still remember something like Kano having the worst grab in the game but it had superb priority so you could just be a griefing tosser denying Sheeva's throws (33% damage but like no priority)

Question: When you fought Liu Kang, you would often jump in with an early jump kick too close distance. I noticed he wasn't jumping up and countering with his air fireball like he usually does against my jump-ins.. Is the early jump kick rather than a normal jump kick a trick to keep the cpu from doing the air fireball counter?

The blocking isn't required. It just helps you stay at the proper distance so you don't end up moving too close to the opponent while tapping forward.

Yep. The only fatality in the game that you can do halfway. It was fucking stupid of them to implement that weird timing with hitting up on the joystick.

blakfloyd The SNES version was far superior to the Genesis version in a lot of ways, but damn the creators to hell for requiring that the hat decapitation fatality be AIMED. That was totally unnecessary and completely fucking stupid.
