It’s very sad we will never get a game this complete ever again on today’s world. Half of the game’s characters would be dlc in today’s world. I can imagine the nightmare already: Deadly Alliance pack: Frost, Drahmin, Nitara, Hsu Hao, Bo Rai Cho, Li Mei, Mavado, Kenshi, and Mokap Deception pack: Havik, Shujinko, Hotaru, Ashrah, Dairou, Kobra, Darrius, and Kira Bosses pack: Shao Kahn, Goro, Kintaro, Motaro, Molach, Onaga, and Blaze MK4 pack: Kai, Shinnok, Reiko, Jarek, Tanya, Fujin, Meat and Quan Chi I hope netherrealm doesn’t do this and releases everything at launch for a potential remaster, but only time will tell.

They're not going to exagerate like that. It's true that some companies abuse with DLCs, but that's not always. You have to consider something for nowadays fighting games and is that the characters are more elaborated in their movesets and animations so carefully to difference one from other and take care about the balance which is something incredibly important for fighting games. And with adding characters by DLC is just a little money to pay to extend the content and that makes the game live longer, and if DLC doesn't exist, welp... you would pay for a version 2 of the game with the new content, then a version 3 and finally a complete version, each of them at full prices at their realeases.

The game was not very complete like come on. They did the stupid fatalities so no one hade their own and every character only had two fighting styles when they previously had 3. So if they shortened the features back in 2006 and now in 2020 when we have even more characters it doesn't look very good. And plus the original timeline was leading up to armageddon in the new timeline it just isnt needed. AND TO ADD ON THAT armageddon was made so midway could end mortal kombat. Thats the main reason why it was made. They brought back every character to end with a bang. (Which they did)

Me and my 3 Brothers had this inside game that we would play we called it MK families. we would choose the dad(our main fighter) a wife(our female main) and ether a daughter or son. We set up a mini tournament and if there was a fatality done on one of your family members then you couldn't use them for your future fights. It was a last man standing deal. You'd hear a lot of "YOU KILLED MY WIFE!" in that room 🤣
