This is an absolutely fantastic comparison video, dude! Thanks for sharing! I have both the regular versions of Baraka from both Storm and McFarlane, though my McFarlane version is still in the box because I haven’t gotten to the review yet LOL! At first I had my doubts about the McFarlane MK figures. I even had Scorp and Sub on preorder and cancelled them, just to put in an order again once they got released, and now Im hooked on both lines. If you have to choose one or the other, then I guess it all comes down to your budget. Personally I display all my Storm figures in their neutral combat stance, without any accessories. The big question then is; Is it worth paying the Storm asking price if the accessories are going in storage to never be seen again? Not if you’re on a budget! In such a case I’d rather recommend the McFarlane figures. No point in spending money on things that you’ll probably never use. Then again, as Emgo316 always says about options, «They are good!» As you say in this video, the accessories (hands, head, etc...) makes for a more dynamic display and more options. Thats all good if you intend to take advantage of those options. What McFarlane could have done here, to expand on peoples display options, is to create «blood packs». Various fatality accessories that people can buy in addition to their figures. That way the individual collector can choose how deep into the brand they want to dive. With Storm you don’t get that option. Its either take it or leave it as is! Its basicly the same with McFarlane at this point too, but at a much more affordable price, and you’ll get a character from a more recent MK game. So, in the end it all boils down to what you can afford. The McFarlane MK11 figures are really great figures too, in my opinion. The only McFarlane figure that I have some issues with so far, is their Johnny Cage! My issue is the double jointed elbows, to be more accurate. The bulky looking jacket makes the elbows look really ugly when fully bendt. The other figures don’t seem to have that problem because their designs are slimmer at the elbow joints. Another positive thing about the McFarlane figures is the fact that they all come with their own stands! Not that you’ll need them for a stabile museum pose, but the option is there. With all that said. Im a massive MK fan and I’ve been that since the very beginning, so Im all in on both the Storm and McFarlane lines. Which one will I drop first if it comes to that point? Well... Now Im thinking that McFarlane will probably release all of the MK11 characters before Storm even gets passed their ninjas. Storm did manage to put out 3 out of 4 bosses, which McFarlane have only managed to announce their Shao Kahn. Will McFarlane ever make Goro, Kintaro and/or Motaro? I don’t think so. Will Storm ever complete their, what I call the UMK3/MK Trilogy line? Well, Im starting to have doubts on that part. It simply takes Storm too long to release the ninja repaints, while McFarlane keeps on releasing new molds for every characters, because there is no characters in MK11 that has the same appearance in other colors. Sorry for the really long comment (its a bad habbit I have LOL), but I thought I’d share my own opinion on this matter. Thanks again for a fantastic video, dude! Keep up the awesome work 😉👍

I agree, im all in on the mcfarlane at this point. Storm are awesome but they are so expensive to get the same ninja figure repainted over and over. Mcfarlane dont even need to complete the whole roster, id be happy if we got a shang sung, d'vorah, frost, jax, sonya blade and a collector. Obviously id love goro also. I can live without motaro and kintaro. Money is a big factor between the two lines, for the price of storm goro i could get 5-6 single carded mcfarlane mk figs. Just makes more sense to stick with todds stuff. Cant wait for kabal and noob, they look amazing. Hoping mcfarlane pick up the rights to the movie this year also.

When it comes to action figures, I'm all about aesthetics. So, for me, the McFarlane version wins. Like you said, the Storm Baraka looks goofy and cartoonish. His proportions are off. He's WAY too bulky. Baraka wasn't that big in the game. Also, I HATE those teeth. I agree that it looks like he's wearing dentures that are about to fall out. That's really ugly-looking. Not to mention, his arm blades are not accurate. They are supposed to be located on the sides of his forearms, not underneath them. Looks like the image of the figure on the back of the box had them in the right spot. I'm guessing that was the prototype? Teeth actually looked better too. They seemed to be metallic, which is more accurate to the game. The Storm figure has a leg-up with accessories and articulation. But that's not enough to justify that price for me. If I'm going to be dropping $70-$80 on a figure, it better be FLAWLESS...and this figure is not. The McFarlane version, though not perfect by any means, looks a lot better to me. And, it's more budget-friendly. I feel comfortable paying $20 for a great-looking figure that has adequate articulation. It's worth the price.

The main difference is that the McFarlane figs are based on the in-game models of the characters, where as the Storm Collectable figs are based on a balance between the original MK games and the comic book art from the early 1990s.

It's understandable that most new MK fans like the MF Baraka better because the sculpt looks more detailed. However, they forget or don't know that the SC Baraka is based on a 90's game where models were scanned off of actors dressed up with GOOFY and CHEAP disguises, masks, make-up and accessories. Hence why SC looks more simple! Less detailed! MF is based on a 2019 3D model where the artist can throw a lot of detail. Please don't compare these figures by those features. Notice the superiority of the SC articulation, accessories and plastic quality.

I would really like to just see a company produce a classic mortal kombat figures line. Always something I've really wanted to see. Rather than later mk11 figures instead. It does confuse me a little bit when company's skip to a much further down the line figures release. Rather than just starting from the original classic versions. Still very much wanting to see all characters done from original mortal kombat games that's for sure. I can only hope. I do like the mcfarlane mk11 figures and especially at such a fair great price point. I do feel the storm ones are very pricey and only wish I could afford those ones.hopefully they will also produce all the characters. As I really hate it as a collector when these company's produce only half the characters for a licence. Can be very annoying. Grrrrrrrr. Dont bother if ya not gunna do em all is all I can say. If ya gunna do it,do it proper job style, all characters etc.

My God ! There are a lot of differences between them. Except the fact that Baraka from Storm doesn’t have that defect at the shoulder (McFarlane’s Baraka looks to have the shoulder from 2 pieces ) in all the aspects McFarlane wins. Why?? Simple-1-price one third from Storm’s price 2-Detaliles-look at the skin, head, skull form, teeth, hands with claws and feet also with claws , costume, hand blades. Much more realistic, way better. The Storm’s figurine-1 drawback skull detail and shape (looks like a goblin), 2-hands and feet (looks 100% human no match with the head), 3-clothing and what a joke-pants slim like the ones that you find on a guy working at gym, sneakers😂😂.
