Honestly gotta love the fact that Bi Han switched between speaking Chinese(Mandarin?) and Japanese, and the characters therein reacted appropriately to the reality that they just don’t understand that language. Really sells the feeling that these fighters really do come from all walks of life and from all over the Earth. Acting is spot on too like damn.

It's been fun seeing Hiroyuki Sanada get more popular in America over the last fifteen or so years. I've been aware of him ever since I saw him in _Ringu/Ring,_ and always really liked him whenever he's popped up in a movie I've seen. Can't wait to see more of him as Scorpion.

@Crimson The Thunder Knight Reiko gets killed by Jax(whose arms are his magic ability, not tech). Liu kang kills Kabal(who is evil in this movie). Kano kills reptile. Sonya kills Kano(whose laser eye is his magic ability, not tech) and mileena. Kung Lao kills Nitara only to get killed by Shang tsung. Scorpion’s descendent cole young kills goro. All this is before the 1st tournament. Saved you from wasting your time and money.

I have been waiting for this since 1992.....Yes when this game was only found at the arcades. Then it went to all the console systems, it made its way to Play station, finally in 1996. I will never forget it and how thing game really wanted to make me rip my hair more so than other games such as streetfighter, something about it just was difficult, always was, I mean you couldn't button mash your way through. lol Anyways, I hope this is finally the movie the story deserved to be the first time around....lol we shall see......

WOW! I truly feel sorry for Hanzo and it shows us how the Scorpion and Sub Zero feud started. Not only do I have sorrows for Hanzo in losing his wife and child to Sub Zero but I get goosebumps on how Scorpion brutally takes out Sub Zero's henchmen. MAN, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE.

How dumb are you. 1. Japan kanji is Chinese characters, if they wrote it down they can understand each other 2. Watch Netflix’s documentary, Japan is like a tiny barbarian to China, in fact Koreans were sent to fight Japan off that’s how insignificant they were. This film is very twisted.

It would have to be a 3 hour film ..the next MK movie simply because of shoa kahn back story introducing kitana john cage few more characters.. maybe the end of the next movie introduces Quan Chi or little moments he interact throughout the next film to set up a fight or war between earth and evil elder gods

Scorpion finds peace and will fight with Our earth fighters because of the manipulation to have him fight on the side of out world ...but was somewhat the cause of his family dying to merge earth realm its going to be interesting to see how the living characters develope and will there be surprising deaths because some earth fighters have to die just the dynamics of mortal kombat so much to be curious about

Love how this Bi-Han hasnt yet control his Arcana well. You can see that little amount of frost he generates even hurt himself a little. Thats very great detail of the movie.

The movie in general starts off at a very high note but unfortunately tapers down after Scorpion's opening act and never reaches that same high note again. Even if they made Sub-Zero's fatality more spectacular it wouldn't have saved the dull ending from the specter of a sequel which became rather obvious even before Shang Tsung's last scene.

Agree. If the movie just focused on Sub-Zero and Scorpion's conflict with each other and it's relationship to the tournament (forget the other characters), it would've been a better film. Instead, they threw in a main character that never existed in the MO lore and the other characters weren't that memorable with dialogue literally taken from the game. Wasted opportunity.

They filmed it all in Australia, thats why it looks so amazing. Australian environment has this harsh brutal beauty about it which suits Mortal Kombat.

Probably from holding the ice shards in his hand. Or maybe this Bi Han had not yet been as well trained in cryomancing. Either way it looked cool.

@@retroafro1 it’s really inconsistent and some of the scenes come across cheap. Bit of shaky cam as-well which took away from the fight-scenes. Aside from Kano,sub zero and scorpion the cast couldn’t act.

Mortal Kombat is a legend by himself but the Story between Scorpion and sub Zero are also legendary and need there own Movie where the hole Story will be explained
