Definitely played a lot of this with my friends when we were way too young to be playing it. The controls were fine for then, but for 2024, "wooden" is the perfect description. They really figured out how to make fighting games 'feel' better. Still hugely important for gaming and a classic.

I really think MKII has among the most solid rosters of any MK game. I myself enjoy the Genesis version of both the first and second games. The gameplay was just way smoother and less clunky than the SNES to me.

I like the Sega version of MKII, but the SNES version was good, too.

@ It was. And by MK3, the SNES had the Genesis beat by a long shot.

This version would be the best one if it wasn’t for them cutting an ending screen off the ending, why they did that I have no idea.
