this game was interesting just because it was the 1st MK game that wasn't solely a tournament fighting game. it was a novel idea, but executed improperly (bullshit jumps, manual turning, mazes w/o a map or compass, instantly re-spawning enemies, & cryptic predicaments). i wouldn't mind a new game like this w/ the flaws removed & new abilities added to the current move-set.

The manual does in fact mention how to use the lifts within this stage. It is even labelled as the prison of souls and has an image of the lift icons. Its still shitty that you have to use the manual, especially now the game is somewhat rare, but just thought it was worth mentioning.

She was 19-20 when they released MK3, which is ironic as she was one of the youngest actors/actresses on set while playing Sindel, who is one of the oldest characters in the game. She also acted as a model for Tanya during MK4's release, but she left after that to pursue other work. The other funny fact is that she dated Shao Kahn's actor, Brian Glynn, between 1998 and 2001. The actor and actress for Liu Kang and Kitana in MK2 also dated each other for some time, coincidentally. Lia still does physical fitness related activities for her career as she's a trainer and instructor. She still posts photos online on her social media feeds, so you can see that she maintained her health over the years.

I wish it just took me just 10 times running around to figure out how to use those damn elevators. It took me many many many hours, days and years of all that until one day, the internet, walk throughs and cell phones were invented for me to figure out how to use the lifts. I honestly thought they never finished the game and intentionally prevented use of the lift to conceal that fact. Wasted my whole childhood trying to get that lift to work. One day on accident tho, a dude uppercutted me onto level one and I was like "holy shit, I found a way up. I even tried it on the other lift and made it up high enough to get the urn without using the keys (since I didn't know how to use them). I could never get to the boss or the statue tho, since there was no way to get uppercutted to that location. Your description of your frustration and the absolute bull-shittedness of hold action and press high kick is spot on. Once I read that and tried it and it worked I was like "I wasted all those hours and years and all I had to do was that? Why didn't I think of that? How would I know to do that? Why couldn't they just have told you that in the key description? Or better yet just use the key like every other key in the game?" This game ruined my childhood and has scarred me for life. I don't even know why I'm watching you play it, but finally someone shared my misery and hates this game for what it has done to them too.

I am nearly through this series. I want to say two important things. 1) Thank you for showing me what i (now know 12 yo me) had no hope of even contending with. and 2) Please, please... please. For your own sake. Do something cathartic and buy some kind of weapon, or explosives ....and destroy any copies of this game you have so it can never hurt you again. It's over. You did it (or so i assume seeing that there's a full walkthrough - i do have two videos left...) But like, holy hells, man. I can feel the frustration in this commentary. I cannot say enough thank you for taking the time to show this because i -never- would have been able to play this. Let alone beat it. As a kid, never even beat Scoripon. It wasn't even a pipe dream to play it. Beating it was literally as impossible for me even now, as knowing how to work the damned elevator by default.

Shinnok was jealous of Earth, so he tried to transform the Netherrealm to something as close as Earth as possible. That's why the demons in this game also look like humans. MKX kinda contradicts this a bit as the demons (besides Sareena) are all traditional demon designs, however. It's possible that Shinnok stopped making the demons look like humans after his defeat in this game.

Just checked the manual for the elevator button combo. It indeed does say it on page 13, but I agree that it's dumb that the game doesn't tell you this when next to the elevator. It does make sense based on button placement since High Kick is at the 12 o'clock position and Low Punch is at the 6 o'clock position, but the game could've shown button prompts to help out with issues like this.

devournzt well when scorpion died he gets resurrected by Quan chi and becomes his personal enforcer and a spirit of vengeance. Sorry for the late reply xD

Since the Netherrealm is MK's version of Hell, Scorpion's soul ended up there. Quan Chi then transformed Scorpion into a Wraith so he could be a servant, so that's why you fight him in the canon route where you perform the Fatality on him. In the non-canon route where you spare Scorpion's life, he presumably returns home to his clan only to see that they're all murdered by someone (it was Quan Chi as a form of payment towards the Lin Kuei). You don't really see what happens to him after you spare him, however, so anything is possible. Seeing that Scorpion ain't in the Netherrealm, he's presumably alive.
