Deception I think is the tightest one, with Stage Fatalities, interactive weapons, Chess Mode which is a fan favorite and the Konquest although goofy is very charming and its cool exploring the realms and doing little side quests. I truly wish I could experience that alone again, playing at night and running through Outworld or the Netherrealm with the sound design of the whole game... chef's kiss. MKA is fun too in a messy way lol and Deadly Alliance is probably the best in terms of ambience. But definitely go Deception first.@@KrunchTheChangeling

So I'm listening to this on third shift...I'm a very big fan of the series, I am good at the single player post MK2 games...I am not good at competitive... i personally really enjoy hearing someone newly playing these and how they think of the games in the modern times...I do think the dogging on the krypt is fair when talking about the important unlocks and the amount of currencies, but I can tell you, as a teenagers who couldnt get games a lot (They were $50, I'd be able to get them a few times a year, MK, Pokemon, and GTA were mostly the only ones I got as close to release as possible)...I loved the krypt and all the content, by the time Deception came out, I had everything, but I was done with Deadly Alliance, for sure, at that point, tho...Only really went back to watch the extras...

This is dope but I can't wait to see you talk about MK9 and MKX especially since MK9 is my personal favorite of NRS era but has been delisted everywhere because of a dlc character despite the character being owned by Warner Bros but you can still play it if you already owned it but the PS3 and PC version are best versions because PS3 has an exclusive stage and character and the PC version can be up-scaled or played with any Bluetooth game-pad also the mods are crazy and please review the Komplete edition of both versions if you can because people always review the base game without the patches or dlc characters

Hotaru did not age because Seidans live several hundred years, if you talk to some of the NPCs, they will tell you their age. Outworlders and Edenians live even longer, thousands of years. So, it makes sense why only Shujinko would visibly age.

For me personally armageddon was best because of the character selection. Deadly alliance number 2 for nostalgia (was my first mk) and deception was really good to just didnt have the same feel as the others.

For me, this trilogy was the best lore portion of MK, but less good than the others, in the actual fighting game...Incomplete Konquest is still one of my favorite parts of MK, I just want to freely explore the realms, even tho it's limited and repetitive...

I disagree 1,000% I have played all three of them and in my opinion by far Armageddon is the best. In addition it still holds the record for having the most characters. The conquest in Armageddon is just hard enough and challenging that it's actually very very fun.

Noob Smoke isnt so bad when you dont let them skullfuck you at every turn like I keep seeing. Doesnt help much against Onaga but who cares when breaking the Kamidogu just... breaks the fight.

To me Armageddon is not fun unless you go through the conquest wit h taven fighting the other players is not as fun or creating a player is not as fun either but playing as taven throughout the game is extremely fun. Going to the winner ice age and your mother's Temple also your father's Temple open obelisk defeating new levels that is what made Armageddon timeless to me I don't think I ever went through an entire tournament because I was too busy playing the conquest.

Anyone who wants to experience the PS2 era MK in all it's glory should skip MKDA and Armageddon... MKDA is good, but seriously lacking in the roster/finishing move category. MKA kind of just sucks... mid air fighting is clunky, and "kreate a fatality" ruined the game for me. The only saving grace that game has is the kreate a fighter feature. Just play Deception... specifically the GameCube version, as it includes GORO AND SHAO KAHN as fully playable characters. Or the PSP version, titled "Mortal Kombat Unchained". It's Deception with a bunch of extra fighters from MKDA who didn't make the console release of MKD... Sonya, Kitana, Frost, Jax, and Blaze. But for my money? GameCube version is best. Seriously... Deception is worth checking out if you haven't before. And this is coming from a guy who has been playing MK since literally day one in 1992.

Nah if you didn’t like the 3d era but liked the nrs era ur weird asf and this is coming from someone who grew up with the arcade and nrs eras specifically. The 3d era had ofc 3d movement(way better then 2d giving more depth and helps avoid spamming projectiles so you actually have to time your movements more efficiently), combos were free flowing and way smoother, some of the best new comers and character designs of the series, sick asf cinematic opening cutscenes, cooler and more interesting maps with stage transitions/fatalities, best music of series by a mile(that deadly alliance character select ost is disgusting), best bonus content and as goofy as they can be probably the best side modes(If you’re telling me you’d pick invasions over motor and chess combat you’re dead inside and have no life)if they implemented these traits into the new games they wouldn’t feel like a chore to play and definitely wouldn’t die within 3 months… there’s a reason mk gets a shit rep in the fighting game community and the biggest reason is the creators constantly go back on innovation, always looking for the easiest way out and that’s why mk1 is already dead 💀
