Nioh 2 OST - Nightmare Bringer

Sadly, this is the last track for Nioh, for now anyway. I might upload more Nioh in future like extended versions or gameplay such as how to deal with certain enemies, or other Nioh-related things like Ninja Gaiden. We'll see. If you have suggestions, let me know and I'll see what I can do :)

This game's dynamic soundtrack is so good. Depending in which mode you are, the song starts looping at 2:30 for the first time. It will either continue from 2:37 if still in light mode, or from 4:34 if you're already in dark mode. So it usually goes 2:30 sequence into 4:34 til 5:04, then 4:29 into 4:34 again if still in dark mode or 2:37 if in light mode, and then finally you have 6:38 onwards looping into either 2:37 if in light mode or 6:48 if you're in dark mode for the 3rd time . So well done, dynamic music matching the gameplay is one of the most underrated things in video games...

yeaah it sure is an amazing detail, wish they had added some more unique tracks though, having same theme for onryoki, ryomen and Bullshitmitsu Saito was a bit disappointing, at least Ryomen / saito should've had a new one even if shared (I know it'd probs be too much effort to create a new theme for saito alone since it was one of those online missions) IMO, since Ryomen was otherwise such a nice boss, plus maybe change otakemaru theme for first DLC fight since it sounds like the ending, which ofc makes sense cause final fight of base game, but doesn't really fit for DLC fight IMO

I've said it elsewhere, but this song has an amazing sense of finality to it. The song really does feel like it's about the end of a long journey. It is less an evoking of Nightmare Bringer as an actual boss fight, but more an evoking of Nightmare Bringer as representing the end of Nioh as a series.

@@HPKazan man the story is amazing, it has many amazing OSTs, the moment Miyoshino appeared then left the interim with that music i legit cried, this game fulfills my "magic samurai" fantasies like no other game does, the combat and the gear system are amazing. It only lacked budget, there are few enemies, many non-voiced side quests and questionable level designs that made me wonder if they hired the same guy from Halo CE at some point.

Nioh 2 has better combat and better ng+ for replayability (but dlc is needed for that unfortunately), but souls games take the cake for exploration, level and enemy design, music, lore, and online elements. That’s why I love them both, they scratch different itches and don’t replace each other.

I've only fought him like once, when i played through the DLC first time. And i usually pay attention to the soundtrack if i can, and I'm glad i do. Because realizing just how amazing this track is while fighting him was just incredible. Definitely cemented the feeling that this is truly the end. It might have been because I fought this boss on Dream of the Demon, but he felt a little... underwhelming. Might've been because I figured out if you keep strafing he'll spam that one slam attack and you can just keep punishing that. Still a really cool boss though.

It was still a fair enough challenge because he would still do other attacks, but again, figuring out that chink in the AI's armor really crippled the intensity of the encounter.

Technically speaking it was Kashin Koji who killed Suzuka. Not Otakemaru. Kashin Koji was the physical manifestation of Otakemaru’s hatred, resentment and mistrust of the human race. It’s why after severing Nightmare bringers horn you see Kashin Koji attempt to rise once more from it before Hide traps him permanently once and for all. It explains why Otakemaru is able to be restored to his former self. Hide slaying the nightmare bringer allowed Otakemaru to let go of all his hatred and resentment..

It's a shame that starting from Shadows in the Capital, every boss fight becomes pure cancer and totally bullshit. Sometimes, cool boss design and awesome looking attacks doesn't synergize very well in a game where you die in 2 attacks.

Nioh 2 didn't sold well. Many people didn't liked trading 100 hits but dying by 2 hits at the speed of light, the excessive grinding just to be a decent level and forced to cheese to match up with the damage enemies do. From what we know, they've stopped development on nioh and this might be the last nioh game we'd ever get probably due to low sales and if that's the case, what a way to go out. They came full circle with the lore and what better way to thank the players than to make them the progenitor of the samurai ideal and basically calling you the symbol of masculinity or feminity ? I hope team ninja learns from their mistakes and makes wo long dynasty a challenging and fun game that everybody can enjoy

you need to stop playing it like a souls game in order to succeed, not gonna start a debate on which is harder but the style and focus is completly different, souls rewards oatience and not getting greedy, nioh rewards hyper aggressiveness and taking advantage of every attack window, can stunlock bosses when done correctly due to how ki works, and if you apply 2 elements you inflict confusion, during which u deal 150% damage, humans also having reduced ki recovery, with yokai having their ki recovery completly halted and unable to cast yokai pools or dark real while it lasts, also rewards consistency with ki pulse and ki recovery reduction mechanics, as well as punishes passive gameplay by letting enemies recover stamina, once that clicks it gets really smooth PS: wym low sales? it currently sits above 7M copies sold

I've never grinded in both Nioh and Nioh 2. Still, I always managed to beat every single boss without ever feeling underleveled.
