Chinook is pronounced shin-nuk also shin-ook. The name comes from the Chinookan Indigenous peoples of the North American Pacific Northwest.

I’ll say Shinook from now on! Thanks for the correction, a lot of people pronounce it Ch and Sh either way from my experience
