It's an American movie. And I'd add that the faults lie in the filmmakers' efforts, rather than the culture.

It was produced and directed by American staff and too much emphasis was put onto the action style comedy which was not funny at all. Depp is good at delivering witty and funny lines but too much emphasis was put into action scenes where any funny remark got swallowed up in the films sequencing
