Hi Art Thank you for your entry to my contest. I recommended a previous contestant checking out Jan Garbareks daughter Anja’s music. It is very special. I went to highschool with Isak Rypdal, a musician in his own right he performs as Dr. No and Electro Spectre. He is a nephew of Terje Rypdal (X-wife Inger Lise Rypdal is also a big artist in Norway). I am so happy you mentioned Grace Slick. It took 47 entries before someone did. And since its only a week left, her predecessor in Jefferson Airplane, Signe Toly Anderson was also of Norwegian descent (Signe was my Grandmothers name). Joni was given a native canadian name on her 75th birthday. What is extra interesting about that is that she hails from Norways ‘urfolk’ (indigenous people) the Sami people. I've heard it pronounced Terry Rip-tal or Tur-jay. Not sure which is correct. Superb atmospheric guitarist. I have a lot if ECM. That Red Lanta is really good. You have excellent taste,l enjoy your finds!
