Super video, and thanks for explaining your thought processes behind the relatively restrained approach compared to some who I think do too much at once even with healthy nursery stock.

Nice start on the tree for a grow and clip bonsai technique. That would be a good demo on this little tree as it progresses without wiring.

Pinky finger, I broke mine playing softball in my younger days. Line shot at short center. New Ball. I just pulled it straight and put a popsicle stick on it with tape and healed nicely. 2 depth chargers (8 ounces of beer with a shot of VO in it) took the pain away. Right now it is best go to the doctor and he can straighten it out. When you are young it is different, we heal fast.

"Maybe I should put some wire on it and straighten it out" gave me a good laugh, if it works on branches it will work on fingers as well! I hope your finger is alright tho

What's your opinion on spaghnum moss within the soil? Especially for very small trees such as mame bonsai? They tend to dry out very fast and my hope is to retain the moisture a little bit longer..
@ShohinbonsaiEurope3 жыл бұрын
I use some in the very small pots to keep up humidity and have a good experience with that. Be sure it is not acid for other species than Azaleas.

@@ShohinbonsaiEurope Thanks for your answer. That's a great point. I have not thought about the acidity of the soil yet. Guess it has been quite stupid to plant a Gingko into soil with spaghnum moss.. Well, we will see how it turns out. 😅

I'd recommend seeing a doctor with the pinky finger! Looks like the tendon for straightening could have snapped! See the doctor fast as time is important in such a case!

You may have rupture of extensor tendon on the little finger. I recommend visit a doctor, if you dont fix it now, it will be more difficult in the future. Take care. Dr. Ostadal
