We already have a mortgage since Jan 22 30% down payment. Is there any way to get away from life insurance on mortgage. If necessary we could secure balance of loan with beneficiary. Almost €200 euro per month seems a bit excessive. Would much rather pay mortgage down.

It will depend on your mortgage terms, taking the insurance from outside of the bank's network could mean an increase in your interest rate, but you can usually change insurance.
