If you give the Captain his soul jar upon first meeting him, you'll likely not be able to find the boots of the set without looking it up, they are supposed to be buried above the abandoned camp area near the cave at the end of the quest.

In case anyone else is wondering, use Bless on the STONE ALTAR, not the chest itself. Also in case you are like me and destroyed his jar before meeting him, you won't get his boots from his body. You'll find a chest at the Abandoned Encampment, in there will be his boots.

The boots are buried somewhere in X:607/606 Y:240/244 (approximately), use the shovel next to the vines and you gonna find a chest.

Great video! When equipping the set the 3 pieces will level up to level 8. In addition also whatever gloves you are wearing will level up. This is a nice way to add some armor to the teleportation gloves. However, it will also increase the int requirement to 12 for the gloves. This was a challenge for my physical party consisting of strong and agile idiots. Edit: this feaure/bug seem to have been removed in the latest patch.

I destroyed all the jars(except grats) when I first entered the vault lol. Had no idea they were linked to quests. I just knew they were most likely connected to annoying enemies id have to deal with.

something to note i dont know if this is DE edition only or whatever, but if you released the captain before anything else, managed to talk him out of fighting you, then go fight him in his quarters, he will have the full set on his person. going to the chest you will just find a skeleton drinking booze telling you that the captain already took the armor and went to his ship, after which he will summon skeletons and attack you like the first encounter (or at least he will if you fail the speech check)

I traded the jar for his coat, after I released him from the chest. Later, when I picked up his hat in the cave, he attacked me with some skeleton fellas.

this armor gives no "min/max" advantage. its good in act 1, but around level 12+, you can get armor and headgear that is MUCH better than this. Also note that if you play a mage, you usually want to start at a high ground. Due to this distance advantage, the charm aura rarely comes into play.

Wait were did you get the hat. In the cave you said search for his armor, I assume that is the hat. My issue is there is no one in the cave and I checked everywhere and I cannot find the hat. I have the chest and the boots

Go around the side of Braccus's tower, vines lead down to that beach. Or use a skill like wings/cloak and dagger etc

You can teleport there if you have the gloves of Teleportation from the crocodiles at fort joy

You're supposed to use Bless on the rock altar around the chest. Not ON the chest. Also the burning historian, you need to cast rain blood on him to douse the flames then use bless.

You need to read the book you get from the chest then when you speak to the door,, choose the option that says "repeat what you read jn the book."

After I had upgraded the whole set to Lvl 18 by giving it to Carldon (?, the bowcrafter you could rescue from the Grey wolves) before heading to Arx, I used it nearly till the end of the game.

I had to fight his minions by his chest and kill them. I went to his cave, opened the door, and now he is summoning his minions again because I told him I wanted to join his crew and then pointed out that I was the one who broke B.R.'s curse. He then summoned 3 Level 8 mates and himself (level 9) to fight me.

I found his soul jar first before even knowing it was a quest, and i smashed the jar. I still managed to complete the set, the armor was in the chest and the hat was in the cave, it didnt show on the first time i was there tho. I cant remember where i found the boots.
