Here's some unreleased material before his 1st album, Black On Both Sides. The Brooklyn Original is primarily composed of Mos Def rhyming over "Incarcerated Scarfaces" by Raekwon, "Who Shot Ya?" by Notorious B.I.G. and as well as "Give Up the Goods (Just Step)" by The Infamous Mobb Deep. This is some rare material, enjoy!

Mos just knows how to put words together in the best way. I love he writes about writing in such a graspable way, with words that bounce off one another, as they try and articulate what it is they are how they come to be. The metaphors around stars (Black Star), education (Professor, freshman) and so on...its just incredible. It makes me 'passionate to the point of tearful'.
