What type of glue is used to hold the mosaic tile on the pvc pipe . They all look beautiful!

It's just clear silicone. I prefer the GE brand. It has no voc fumes. I load the silicone into syringes for easier less messy application

I noticed each student had a syringe with all their tools. Were these syringes filled with silicone for ease of gluing? Or were the silicone tubes used with the caulking gun (seems unwieldy)? What size syringes are those? I like the idea of applying adhesive that way and wondered if size 60 is too large to handle. LOVE these garden poles - such a great idea!

They are All Soo Beautiful!! I love them all! Do you drill a hole in the top and secure the topper with a screw, nut and glue underneath?

This has been very inspiring to me. Do you advise sealing the finish poles with some kind of clear sealant?

Hi Nancy,Does the tesserae stay on?Did you have to rough up the pvc pipe before gluing?Or would it be better to cover with self adhesive mesh & thinset first?Regards Janine King,Western Australia

Sand the pipe for "bite". Silicone

When I bought my house the lady that owned it prior left a lot of stuff behind and they don't have recycling here. So as I am throwing all the stuff away ,I am thinking it's going into landfills. I had just had six surgeries in one year and had more coming so I have some time on my hands. That PVC pipe that you just showed was in the yard and suddenly I was inspired to do an upcycle for the first time in my life. I had no Vice or clamps and I sawed it into six pieces by sitting on it on a chair. To l say that that was an unpleasant Rodeo ride is an understatement.

@mosaicsgardenbynancykeating I actually didn't think I would be out of work this long and I just found out I have another stack of surgeries so I have been doing beating because I can't feel my hands because my spinal fusion collapsed, but the last time I had that surgery I was very big because it was the last surgery of 6 and it didn't go well so I wanted to lose weight before I did it again. You gain weight when you lay in bed for a year and keep eating what you did before. Who knew? I just started upcycycling for extra money and they like them, fingers crossed. Knots are my enemy though lol I'm so glad all the junk the lady left in the garage when she sold it was too heavy for me now.

Hi .. well yes. I do have a few for sale. $50. They were fabricated for me by a metal shop. BUT they are really heavy and a big oversized box. would cost $$$ to ship to CA. Probably $75 my guess guess.
