The question is what role did he play in Eritrea or the Eritreans political struggle against the Italians. He served Ethiopia very honorably and above all loyally to the last, the Ethiopian history books should archive his work, Eritrea should honor only those who fought, and fell for her cause fighting colonizers of all kind.
