Maybe he had a glimpse of some bit of wisdom and mistook it for the whole. How long is "now"? Sometimes, if the self quiets for a precious moment, this is mistaken for "enlightenment". Followed by self-inflation. Why would he need to make tons of money with his spin, if only the now mattered... Retain freedom in all directions, past, present, future, without attaching too much.
