Demand for this thing is going to explode with Samuraiguitarist doing his video on it. This seems like an awesome product much like the Kitara was. I would definitely be interested in getting one once there is a left handed or symmetrical body design. While I'm sad to see the screen and menu diving options gone compared to the Misa, playability is certainly more important than flashy presentation ( and the computer can do all the MIDI mappings anyways).
@MosiAudio
@MosiAudio 2 жыл бұрын
Noted. It is possible to flip it to lefty tuning with a button push, and we can install a strap button on the lefty horn. Hoping to make a true left-handed model in the future though, but not sure exactly when.

I am so glad you're doing this. The guy at MISA just stop making them for years, and then got us all hyped with that vaporware Spectra which was supposed to launch 4 years ago. I was worried he would just sit on the patent and then that would be the end of touchpad midi guitar.

This is great! Can you please answer to a few questions? 1 - What is the latency in ms? 2 - Slide or move fast around the neck and sticking sensation usually go hand in hand, how does this instrument solve it? 3 - What about ghost notes? 4 - Open strings? 5 - Custom tunings and storage of them? 6 - Is the neck detachable in order to travel with it in the plane cabin? 7 - Can you detach the headstock? 8 - Can we buy one already? I prefer something less flashy and with less options but more durable physically and reliable: what is the design philosophy of this instrument and the materialization in the final product?
@MosiAudio
@MosiAudio 2 жыл бұрын
1 - All the controls are direct, so there's no tracking needed. The actual latency depends on your audio setup, but with the right drivers (mac/asio) it feels instantaneous. 2 - The fret buttons are lightly textured with contoured ends to allow smooth sliding up and down the fretboard. 3 - The direct fret input is very reliable and doesn't play random notes you're not playing. 4 - A software update allowing open string capabilities is planned. 5 - It can be retuned and has tuning presets. Check out the Nova guide: nova.mosiaudio.com . Saved tuning presets are planned. 6/7 - They're not, but I've brought it on 20+ flights and haven't had issues fitting it into the coat closet or in the overhead. 8 - Yes, they're available now at mosiaudio.com Sounds like the Nova would be a good fit for you. It's very durable and built to last, with a wood body and neck, stainless steel fretboard, and thick touchpad glass. The esthetic is also a bit more reserved than other touchpad guitars.

Anyone remember the 00's? All we had to do was to tape a Korg Chaos Pad to any guitar of our choice to turn the guitar into a synthesizer.... 😂🤣
@kronux3831
@kronux3831 Жыл бұрын
I would kill to have one of these with a built in synth like Akai does for their EWI line. Mostly just to increase the ease of the instrument being pickup-and-play, tbh. Definitely buying one of these either way though, they look frickin sick!

I’d be tempted to disassemble it and rebuild it into a custom body because strats are so boring to me. I did this with the Mustang controller last year and I never quite finished it before abandoning the project. But that was only a $50 loss. Does the neck bolt on in the traditional way of an electric guitar? Can the wires be disconnected? I’m sure you’re familiar with the Mustang design and construction… it’s clearly similar in a lot of ways but much higher quality and I like the idea of the chaos pad instead of the piezo “string” interface. Are you able to strum chords with it? Does it have a “tap” mode? Thank you in advance for answering my questions. I’m very much interested in buying one.
@MosiAudio
@MosiAudio Ай бұрын
Hi Micah, yup the neck mounts the same as other guitars and it's possible to unplug/replug the wires. There's a new "strum" mode that lets you strum chords, as well as a "tap" mode too. Check out the full guide here: mosiaudio.com/pages/nova-manual

💡 mosi + Auto tonic software or some type of mode so you'll stay in scale with strum or glide feature & (chords like scaler 2 for guitars) +ample Guitar vst or any other guitar vst + widi compatible so you'll be wireless + rgb changeable settings for buttons+ long modulation strips down each side of neck of guitar to articulate the sliding sound when you plan a real guitar or just a modulation feature to do different expressions + different guitar style features like jazz, blue,rock,metal,rnb,ect. And I think it would be awesome product as long as you keep price around $1500ish and stay up on firmware....also maybe slim neck a little bit thinner for the noobs and a little slimer but slightly different neck for professionals that wants to pick up a new toy to help express themselves!

@@BabyMoney216 believe me I wish I could! Right now we only have 2 prototypes. The remaining 100 are halfway built though and the June estimate does has a bit of buffer in it, so it's possible they'll be ready before then.

Hi Steven! I notice you may have a micro-tuned midi keyboard behind you there. Where can I get one of those? I have been looking for a while for something like that. :)
@MosiAudio
@MosiAudio 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! It's called a Janko keyboard. Not actually micro-tuned though, just a different keyboard layout. The model I have is called the Chromatone, but it looks like it's not being manufactured anymore. I see some on ebay though: www.ebay.com/itm/234062592617 There's also the Lumatone, which can do microtuning: www.lumatone.io

It should using its 5-pin MIDI out. Haven't tried it with a GR 55, but recently hooked it up to a Yamaha Montage and it was great.

@MosiAudio 3 жыл бұрын
Wow I've never see that VST before. You definitely could, and that might be a great way of playing a guitar sound with it. Would be very beginner friendly too since single buttons basically become whole chords and strum patterns. The touchpad could be mapped to control the expression as well.

@CarlosSaulRodriguezA

For the price is very awful piece of a expensive toy. Headstock is useless so get rid of it. Make body thinner and get rid of unnecessary chunks/corners. Set-neck instead of bolt on to give a better product feeling and a cleaner neck-to-body transition. Also, improve control panel, everything is offset, MIDI, usb-C and on/off switch... the latter even look awful being a normal common two way switch from behind a speaker instead of a dedicated nice button. Cherry on the top, add logo or name of the brand and model somewhere, this is barely marketable. Last but not least, add visible ID number somewhere as well. Any I+D or marketing department should have already seen those and correct them or make a new series.

Some demo videos with a competent guitarist would be helpful to understand the potential. At this point it doesn't appear to be as versatile as a Variax/Roland setup. It also doesn't appear to have string bending (or pitch wheel instead) funtionality.
