MCarbo makes a Nagant Trigger mod kit that is awesome. Has a return spring and shims to get better seer geometry. Polishing the surfaces really improves the feel and function. I went from 8lbs pull to 4 and no play and creep. Very satisfying and no stock mods required.

Do you recommend using wood hardener for the surfaces that were cut? I am afraid if you drop the rifle, the wood will snap.

I realize its been a year since you posted this - I would definitely use a hardener or fiber glass fill the inside and bed the action. I think if you take your time you could do this without removing as much wood as shown... not really sure? as I have not installed one myself - but I would remove the safety from the trigger and stay with the original bolt safety just for original appearance sake and not having to remove any more wood then necessary and creating an even larger weakness in the stock. "Unless I installed this on a carbine for hunting purposes" in that case the Timney safety would be a great upgrade for a quick target acquisition and engagement and could also alow for a double safety, if for some reason you needed one. All in all, I think this is a really nice upgrade. I have done many trigger jobs on Mosin Nagant rifles and achieved nice results from modifications to the original triggers assembly, but Timney is without a doubt a top of the line product.

I changed my M39 trigger because they are pretty terrible compared to this timney.

@@Thisisoscar_ maybe true, but my rifle is in great condition and I'd like to keep it that way.
