Yes, I understand you. However you inspired me with your work. I have already purchased my fourth terrarium and have made some videos on my channel (nothing sensational is a newborn channel!). I would like to try some aquascaping but I really still have a lot to learn. I am more prepared about terrarium/mossarium. Thanks so much! I love your content! You introduced me to Baiosphere, excellent products that I can't wait to try! Well done!

Keep it for awhile. I like the dark moss with the green. It seems somewhat more real. I also am curious to see the re-growth. Will moss recover? Will natural selection cause certain species to dominate? Consider this a leaning experience or prototype. Enjoy the adventure, Jim

If you decide to use a substrate, use an equal mix of organic worm castings, finely cut up, dried sphagnum moss, and crushed organic charcoal, that way you can add Springtails to keep down mold and fungus in your terrarium. Add some accent pieces such as small catappa leaves, pine needles, alder cones, and acorn caps. Boil any thing you collect from the wild to prevent unwanted pests.

The design is interesting. The “tear drop” in the glass dome center appears to be designed to collect roof condensation for a drip into the center of the project. Is the silicone capable of holding much weight? Your stones were small, but I could imager larger and/or heavier stones buckling or deforming the silicone over time. Thanks for the video. Your varied projects and efforts that use nature are appreciated! Jim
@JurijsJutjajevs4 жыл бұрын
The silicone will definitely hold much larger and heavier rock, but the space below the “tear drop” is really limited, so it will be really difficult to use significantly larger rocks inside

Just discovered your channel and the wonderful world of terrariums. On the left of the video you have a terrarium with water in it. Could you place fish in it or not? That would look great in something so small. Oh, yes, tear out the brown moss and start over. Heck, you could make another video. Maybe add sand too?

I think that you should try rescape but this time something different like aquatic mosses. I’m looking for a botanica boutique sanctuary M like that one but the website shows always out of stock, but i want to try with aquatic mosses on a fine layer of Dooa terra tape. Continue the great work!!!
@markgriffin55374 жыл бұрын
Re scape it for sure. Possibly through in some wood. Pay close attention where you get your moss from. If it’s attached to wood, rock or soil. Mimic that to be successful.

Try pincushion moss (Leucobryum glaucum), it is a very hardy species in a closed system like this. The ones you collected require a lot of ventilation. I assume they are temperate species, that's why they didn't do well in a tropical setup like that. You might also wanna try aquatic moss which I am sure will do very well. Don't keep the mossarium too hot as disease and mold can and will occur, killing your moss.

Hi Juri, how are you? I hope that all is well in this difficult period.... I have a simple question even if is not so pertinent to this video. When we’ll make a change of water of the tank if for a product like seachem prime, can I add it directly into a bucket with a pump that will bring directly water in the aquarium? Or I have to place the water in a big bucket and wait for its settling/extol? I’m asking this because I’m making an aquarium of 250 liters and will be very difficult to wait for the settling and after add the water into the aquarium and I’d like to avoid that chlorine will be dangerous for the fish. If you can give me an aswer this will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your support and of course a big Ciao
@JurijsJutjajevs4 жыл бұрын
Give 50% dosage into aquarium, and split the rest in several small portions that you give into the bucket with the pump every so often for the best result. Usually one is doing waterchange from tap and is adding water conditioner afterwards straight into the aquarium. It usually neutralizes chlorine very fast. However if you have sensitive livestock you might want to do the above mentioned or use RO water for extra safety

Jurijs Jutjajevs thank you very much, you are very professional. I really appreciate your support. Thanks again

I vote rescape with a "mud" base! Moss needs some nutrients. You can use crushed aquasoil, and cut up spagnum moss (akadama is also nice, but not essential) thoroughly mixed with water. It retains moisture very well. Also Jurijs, maybe try some different species of moss. The type you've choosen might simply be maladapted for these terrariums. Good luck!!
