I have really enjoyed watching the progress of the F80 over the last few years. This channel is one of the reasons I continue to build and enjoy mine today. The Mosselman turbo setup is very impressive and for the cost seems like a great option. I cannot imagine trying to keep traction with all that power in a car that already loves to break away at 70 mph on a tune. Epic build and sorry to see it go. Really tempting to add some new turbos after watching this. Cheers!

A little heads up (experienced in powertrain development), look out for the oil temperature impact on the road, not likely an issue when pushing hard... but lower oil temperatures during high speed moderate driving- I.e. motorway/autobahn/a-road and being real for most people you can't spend a huge amount of time in normal driving on load / at high speed without obliterating the speed limit. Basically if you don't get the oil over 90-100 odd degrees regularly the possible richness when you've got a mapped / enriched on load conditions and you can end up with quite a lot of fuel dilution in the oil. Simply keeping it warmer avoids that allowing the fuel to evaporate off. (Experience was 21,000 miles of autobahn driving with a slightly low temperature - added around 1 litre 10% fuel in oil - increasing coolant temp in that case sorted it out.

Hello, very nice tuning of S55 car, thank you for sharing! Only thing I noticed is a bit strange sound of the exhaust, it appeared in high RPM just before DCT shifting up (see the video when the car drove off in time 9:10 sec). It sounds like the exhaust gas under high pressure resonates somewhere which makes disharmony in the overal exhaust sound performance. It just seems to me or do you hear it as well?

Please before you retire the f80 put it up against minty (g80) s58 platform has loads of potential but exactly how far is the f80 in measurables and what tune would it need to competed with is younger sibling. These cars are the last of the ice… make it happen as only EVOLVE can.

@@EvolveAutomotive That could be the culprit. Power curve of my car (Pure Stage 2+ turbos) is a lot more peaky/punchy than yours. While I may have 100 more peak whp, I'm making less power at every point on the graph under 4500rpms.

I'm assuming the setup is exceeding 24psi and was wondering why you have retained the carbon fiber charge pipes when they are only rated to 24 psi. I'm interested in the CF charge pipes however apprehensive to buy them due to the rated pressure recommendation. What are the boost targets in this setup?

27 psi on pump and 29 psi on pump and meth. We have not had any issues with them.

A hybrid turbo is one that uses the original turbo housing but machined to take larger compressor/turbine wheels.

It would be more meaningful to at least mention how high did you have to turn the boost up to get these power levels and how much knock retard it produced. Was factory tune able to maintain the proper AFR or significant changes to the fuel map was necessary and so on. Lets add a few more description to the word "tune".

Fuck man, I hate the rear bumpers on the F80s. It's mostly those reflectors section. It will look alot better if that entire section is flat.
