My mom was born and raised in Georgia and I grew up eating my grandparents Brunswick stew… I I actually had gotten the recipe years ago and made it and it wasn’t bad but I don’t know what I’ve done with it and now it’s basically too late to get it from anybody… I looked online to see if I can find anything close to it and everything that I have found has veggies in it especially things like corn and butter beans and from everything I remember it did not have any veggies in it at all it was strictly meat …shredded meat… I remember my grandma cooking a hogshead on the stove because she used the meat from that as the pork… I remember she cooked chicken and something else to combine it and it was very peppery and vinegary and tomatoey but no veggies… I really miss it I wish I had kept that recipe

Oh I want to try the chocolate pizza. You could slice strawberries and put on top to be pretend pepperoni. Or other fruit would be good too like pineapple. But also, you could probably cut it up into the squares and freeze them individually. Oh the inspiration you have given me lol.

I made homemade bbq sauce, catsup, cranberry sauce, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic, diced onion, and a little cumin. Really good and it can be used with any kind of meat. If I had the money I would send you some to try. I have around 10 pints I canned.

Your supper looked so good. After you seared the chicken how long did you bake in the oven. I have never had Brunswick stew. Those chocolate dessert bars looked scrumptious! You always put a special touch on everything. It's Sunday and we were under a winter storm advisory. Thank the Lord it wasn't bad as far as a bad ice storm. Our power about went several times, but never did. I am so thankful and grateful. It's so cold and raining here today so I made a big pot of potato soup and made corn bread! Nothing like soup when it is so cold and dreary out side. We were suppose to have alot of wind also, but the wind hasn't been that bad. That is a plus, cause wind can make the power go out too. I always worry about the power going off due to all of the food I have in the freezer. We have a generator, but I still worry about the food. I keep saying I don't need to stock the freezer so full but I like the security of knowing we have food if some kind of emergency comes up. I just pray and ask God to take care of us and don't let me lose my food. My freezer is an upright frost free freezer, so things won't stay frozen as long. I kinda would like to go back to the big ole chest freezer just for that reason. You just lose every thing in the bottom and have to about stand on your head! 😆 I can't wait to see if you all got a big snow. I know the kids sure would enjoy it.
