I am currently studying Bachelor of Education (in South Africa), doing my Final year, and I just discovered my love and passion for aviation (of which teaching is also a passion, but I think it would still be applicable in CFI career path progression before joining airlines)... I am therefore going to become an Educator for a few years, and have to sponsor myself My question is, how long do you think this route can take before I get to at least CFI level, given I will start my training 1 year after employment in education sector? Secondly, can I obtain my CPL part-time? It’s not recommended. Airlines recruit fresher type rated Pilots until the age of 37.
