(it’s gonna be the highest watch Super Bowl ever) Prices for tickets are going for a minimum of $9,000 a ticket, and that’s not counting the luxury boxes that are going for over $1 million. I don’t think the World Cup people are paying that much money for a ticket. They may get more viewers worldwide, but it’s not gonna be the greatest event in USA in the 21st-century. We just had the World Cup here in Los Angeles in 1984. And I don’t hear everyone talking about that as being biggest event in the USA in the 20th century.

@@MikeCee7 the arrival of Pele did improve the popularity of football in the US but it didn't really stayed long. The US still didn't have a tier 1 division at that time. But the 1994 world cup changed the trajectory of the popularity of the sport in the US as MLS was then created the following year and it still going strong up to this today. Unlike it's predecessors NASL. In terms of viewship? It's doesn't even make sense to compare Superbowl and world cuo lol. Everyone knows world cup viewship dwarfs the super bowl so it doesn't make sense at all to compare. And I'll just leave a comment here so that I can comeback to this in the future lol

Inside the United States this type of Football is not as viewed compared to other countries overall. However, there are some good locations that can support this sport well in US with places like NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Houston, Dallas are probably the good choices. In smaller market cities will not work well. In Canada Toronto and Montréal are key areas and for Mexico pretty much all the major cities.

I saw the champions league final Chelsea v Man City at Mulligans in Hoboken in 2020. It was something special because it was April 2021 and everyone started gettting their covid vacines and we were finally able to go out. It was the first time during covid that i was able to be in a room jam packed without wearing a covid mask !!!! The Azteca has hosted the final twice in 1970 and 1986. The United States as a whole has only ever hosted the World Cup once and the final was hosted at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena in 1994 which while its one of the largest stadiums in the world even today, is no where near as modernized as NFL stadiums. Even if MetLife Stadium is not as good as other NFL Stadiums, it is still a major stadium with its own history. Yes, Azteca has history don't get me wrong but for the first time in years, International Football (Not to get confused with American Football) is now growing in the United States with an increasing amount of Americans not only watching the sport but actually caring about the sport. The United States hosting the WC in 2026 is huge for us and the fact the final is being hosted in New York is a great chance for Americans to actually be able to attend the final locally.
