@@Carlos-fv2fm - The majority of weathy people I know got rich off of real estate or stocks. It's likely that the quiet, well to do folks you know, have stocks even if they don't often mention it. Today, we have many opportunites that our previous generations did not have. INDEX Funds and tons of other LOW COST mutual funds. Regardless of what anyone says, the average investor (90%) should NOT TRADE stocks or funds. Just put in your monthly or bi-weekly investment money and HOPE that the market goes down. Contrary to what some think, the cheaper you buy every month, the BETTER you are. If the market goes up? Great....you made money. If it goes down...you will buy quality companies for cheaper. My best advice is to invest in the best companies whether you invest in indexes or individual companies. They may or may not perform the best, but they will always rise from the ashes after a recession. GTA!
