Can I ask....has anyone seen Aspinall's non ufc fights? I kinda tuned in to watch just so I know how he's improved and early tendencies. I learned a few things about Aspinall's grappling early (which is meant to be even more of his main strength then). Tom on top is fine. He can ground and pound, pin and transition well. On bottom? So.....his TD defence has improved compared to before...but when he was on the bottom? Ngl....man seemed like a fish out of water...he didn't do much of anything except elbows from the bottom most of the time. That....worrys me...because this was when his boxing was supposed to be slightly underdeveloped and leaned on his grappling more... Obviously, he has improved so much since then...but....I am worried we giving his bottom game too much credit seeing as we haven't seen it in the UFC and outside of the UFC....it was like late stage Tony Ferguson.

But what I am saying is that if Jones can get a takedown...it looks very likely, you won't see Tommy doing a Jose Aldo or Derrick Lewis or even attack from the bottom. He has shown the ability to get back to guard....but then he just....stops....like really old school, mma guard of "stand me up ref....stand me up ref....please" Simply put, that's not a good idea with Jones. Say what you want. Man's GNP elbows still smash, and if Tommy goes down....he's very likely to eat a round of elbows based on past performances (which I hope he improved that part of his game)

Aspinall needs to put his focus in training on cardio, in particular wrestling grinding cardio. In open striking exchanges, Aspinall already has the advantage. Jones best way to win is getting Aspinall into deep waters of later rounds where Aspinall has never been and doesn't have the experience of how to pace himself. So Jones will focus on surviving the first two rounds and then wear Aspinall out.

Yo WEASLE! 😂 We've been through this before Man, it's pretty obvious you desperately want to see Jones lose and your fan fiction of the fight is nothing but FICTION, You keep bringing up "IF Reyes can Stop the Takedowns so Can Tom" well you're missing a very huge factor here, Jones wasn't training with Jden Cox the Olympic Bronze Medalist, Gable Steveson the Olympic Gold Medalist and Gordan Ryan one of the Greats of BJJ when he fought Reyes, those guys didn't come into Jones camp until Heavyweight and now that he has those guys his grappling is much better than it was 5 to 6 years ago, Aspinall is a BJJ blackbelt primarily not a world class wrestler and his takedown defense has never been tested truly by a dynamic fighter with elite level grappling like Jones, Tom's cardio hasn't even been tested either, and he struggled to take a retired rugby player down to the mat which Adam Catterall yelled SLIPPY SLIPPY in an attempt to cover up that embarrassing moment, Tom won't be able to stop Jones takedowns for long and each time Jones gets his body weight on Aspinall it's going to force Aspinall to work and exert energy, this Is why I wonder very much about how long he can keep that pace up, feel like Jones is going to end up drowning him in the 3rd Round. My prediction is Jones will finish Aspinall by Submission 4th Round, Tom's been finished by Sub before in his career, doesn't mean it won't happen again and If anybody can do it it's definitely Jon Jones.

@TheWeasleMMA Tom's defense hasn't been tested because he's fought a load of Journeymen who aren't even in the same universe of skill as Jones and 1 former champ in 42yo washed glass Jaw Arlovski who was far more over the hill than 42yo Stipe, Arlovski been fighting since like 99 or 2000, he should have BEEN retired, and it took Tom 2 Rounds to get him out of there, come on Weasle you know well that this era of Heavyweight is weak, it hasn't been supremely stacked and talented since Cain Velasquez was in his Prime, those days are long gone, Tom is getting better but he's still very inexperienced when facing someone of Jones caliber, Jones experience fighting Gus and Reyes will actually benefit Jones in the fight with Tom, and Tom better train his butt off for that wrestling because I don't see Tom bringing anybody on the level of Gable Steveson and Gordan Ryan or Jden Cox into his camp or on his KZbin grappling sessions, I watch his training and footage closely, his camp isn't as good as Jones camp based off what I've seen, and idk if you believe in karma but all those duck comments about Jones, all the duck memes and videos, t-shirts all of these antics is only setting Tom up to lose. @TheWeasleMMA Another huge detail I noticed is that Tom has a tendency to get his arm trapped in the clinch, watch the Arlovski and Blaydes 2 fights, Tom has to break away by yanking his arm out of their grip, that is a fatal flaw when you fight Jones in the clinch or against the fence, Aspinall is extremely vulnerable to getting his arm Wrenched out of socket by Jones, that's another tool Jones can use to take away Tom's power and hands and that technique will only be more devastating at Heavyweight.

I see khamazat fighting smarter in a 5rd fight, I see him going for the finish early to see if he can get it, in a 5 round setting I mean he basically does this in all his fights, but if he doesn’t get the finish, he’s gonna start round 2 slower, and pace himself for the fight, unless he can just sprint all 5 rounds which I don’t think he can, but I see him going hard round 1, taking round 2 off, then from there itll turn into who is the better fighter, but that’s if said fighter can make it outta round 1

Every low kick Aspinall has ever landed has stumbled his opponent, same can be said for Alex and Ilia. These three also happen to be the best boxers in their weight classes. They also happen to be 3 of the 5 best strikers alive. Not even a prime Jon has an argument to be a better/more technical or more skilled striker than Tom and if you didn’t see his last fight he was moving in slow-mo on the feet. This isn’t a video game where somehow Jon’s slow motion mystical striking IQ can overcome Tom’s physically. It’s a complete wash. In the grappling is Jon’s only chance and it’s a damn good one against the generational talent that is Aspinall. The fight is far closer than people on either side would like to think.
