Magnus is just a standup guy with a major bonus of being an insane climber and all around beast fitness wise. Also that video you watched is the most inspiring I've seen in a while.

I think I will try the treadmill test, but just in normal PT kit first, and go from there haha. It is probably horrible enough without the weight, also the my gym may kick off if I try and wear a pack and boots on their shiny treadmills hah.. Insane resilience from these guys on pushing through the pain barrier to the end.

Remember, this was done in impregnated (? - water resistant) uniforms and heavy boots. That's clothing hindering heat dissipation and 750g - 1kg on each foot).

Goes to show how different regular running is to Tabbing with this intensity. Magnus a few years back ran a marathon without any training. 18 minutes into a TAB... Disgusting pace and Intensity. You should defo do this.
@combatreadyhq

Yes mate exactly it's completely different, you need to train for it., he is a fit guy though and done well. I don't really tab at all anymore but I will give this a go for sure and do a video on it

I remember this, and I remember during the walking Magnus didn't strap his backpack lol. He's the most insane climber I've ever seen, he's awesome and I love him, but he must have hiked close to nothing (or _VERY_ little, for being a Norwegian) It was really sloppy and definitely interfered with his max. It's hard to give a number since a loose rucksack gets worse the more tired you get but maybe 20%? That also depends on his mind Edit: I guess I meant "adjust" and not "strap". There should be at least 5 adjustables (3 paired and 2 across) on a proper rucksack/backpack. They're alpha and omega on expeditions/carrying heavy gear (as well as HOW you packed). Edit: 17:21 He says "slappe skulderstropper" or something (slack shoulder straps) and Magnus adjusts the front straps :p So yeah. The shoulder straps are at the top, they keep your backpack closer to your back. There's often 2 at the top, for 2 different angles, and 1 under your arms which is just the height which you adjust after the waist strap. (The waist and front ones decide how much weigh you put on your legs and how much on your back). The one across the chest is largely irrelevant and mostly for comfort unless you have weird shoulders or the backpack is weird (for yo) so that the "handles" going over your shoulders slide away from your neck (or similar).

The Nordic military mindset is always going to be pretty different from that of the British and US because they know that they exist and are preparing for something that may actually one day come to their lands (Russia lol).

Great video mate, have seen magnus before he is a beast, obviously being a climber helped with the pull challenges. The tab is brutal, I've got a walking workout on the treadmill. Obviously nothing as hard as that, set treadmill to fast walking pace about 6.4 then every minute increase incline by one. When you get to fifteen you come back down. 👍
