They stopped banging the trash cans for Altuve because he'd let the pitches go by him without swinging, then turn and glare at the dugout. He really didn't use the system. That's been pretty thoroughly proven by people who examined the entire season. There's an extensive video out there talking about it, and includes the number of every trashcan bang by player. As an Astros fan, I do wish he had actually done something about it though, because the rest of the team fucked our public image hard.

Sorry ever team in MLB has cheated one time or another. During the steroid era you can’t tell me the the owners and MLB front office didn’t know what was going on. They all turn a blind eye to because they was making a lot of money after the strike in 94. From the office in MLB, the owners and all the front office in the teams are just to blame has much as these players.
