It is so wonderful to be able to express gratitude to Tom, Tony, TastyWorks for even the most simplistic knowledge they try to convey from their preeminent experience. Thanks again.

Great series! Thanks. How do you determine the correlation of the portfolio to the S&P? Does the platform have a function that does that? Or more to the point, how would I do this with my own portfolio? Similarly, how do you determine the volatility of the portfolio over a period? Does the platform have a function to do that for us? Is it possible for you to make your trades in this portfolio public? Seeing the concrete trades is almost always more informative than just seeing the changes in Deltas. Thanks.

Nice. I've been going over risk management with my S&P position wondering if I should roll. I guess I should! lol

I would like to see the profit and loss. You can’t expect most people to stick to an approach if they can’t emotionally manage huge swings. Maybe that is their fault but at least you should be upfront about it.

So, what are the common mistakes? The video title should have been, "what we do to tighten an options portfolio to do better", or something to that effect.

PoP only applies to short term options, like 30 days or less. It doesn't account for drift.

Could you please explain why you only need $7400 capital for selling put for SPY? Do you sell cash secured put?
@djayjp4 ай бұрын
Margin. It's a naked put. Also the margin requirements are less if you have something specific called portfolio margin which only applies to $100k accounts iirc.

Since when is a covered call bullish?
@tdiler122 ай бұрын
the long Stock holding is worth a lot more $$ than the sold calls so that is an inherently bullish position. If the sold calls are low delta then yes it could still be deemed a bullish strategy w the intention of collecting a few extra quarters along the way.

How could you open so many positions with only 50k ? When I sell one put on SPY - my broker freezes around 40k alone

Margin. Also there's a specific kind called portfolio margin when your account is over $100k iirc.

I would NOT be long Euro at this juncture even if you held a gun to the side of my head! 😼 Eurozone is in a sh!t-ton of trouble going into Winter. Unless the Russo-Ukrainian conflict shows signs of resolution, I would SHORT anything that even remotely smells of Euro. 🤷♂️

@Global-livingg2 жыл бұрын
@@huntervaughan7657 There's no real evidence Tom or Tony are bad at trading the markets - the strategy is solid and should work if their assumptions are relatively correct. I disagree with some of the assumptions, such as being short dollars short-medium term, but that doesn't mean he's a bad trader. It could fit his other positions better than being long dollars, like I am currently.
