In fact, it has inspired us to look at the 10 most controversial decisions in the VAR era. If you hated VAR before, this video will make you hate it even more. And there’s something for every fan base here.
Of course, we’ll start with the Clasico. That game saw Madrid win 3-2 and extend their lead at the top of La Liga to 11 points, pretty much sealing the title, but it was perhaps the most controversial game of the season.

Real Madrid VAR controversy in El Classico is mostly just frustration from the fans. First the Vásquez penalty is clear contact as Cubarsí as he doesn’t intentionally move his body into a position that Cubarsí makes contact unlike Saka vs Neuer. Also Yamal only makes contact as HIS OWN foot is moving back and just happens to barely lightly graze Camavinga. Plus Yamal takes a solid two steps before falling. Also the Goal I admit yes there should be technology in place to deal with that, but social media posts are just fans finding curious angles, there is no real evidence it went in.

The fact that La Liga don't have goal line technology is just stupid, the president can keep yapping about "too expensive" but it literally costs €3M. The president got a €3M payrise that year so HOW could they not pay for such a basic technology? 1- Lucas vasquez deserved that penalty because the defender leg fully strectched and fully extended unlike bayern and saka case. 2- Lamine Yamal goal right to be cancelled, even the picture you showed from the top shows that it did not fully go in, there is still a small part of the side of the ball over the line. 3- Rudiger just stood there and the player ran in to him , how is that a foul, lers bot play ourselves.
