Most corrupt thing employers of mine have ever done (over multiple jobs): Local community recreation center I volunteered for: asked me to mop a floor Subway restaurant: asked me to mop a floor Local estate auction service I worked for: wage robbed me out of 100 bucks over one summer by calling me a contract laborer instead of computing my hourly wage as promised, which also screwed up my IRS paperwork Chickfila: asked me to mop a floor Most of my employers don't do corrupt stuff lol

In High School, I had an employer that kept pushing the entire staff to work later hours (on school nights) but was clocking us all out hours prior to closing, saying "Well, if you guys worked faster, we'd be done by now." Anyway, we quit en masse, and the boss eventually got canned by corporate for the stunt.

I just flat out kept them. Documents that needed to be kept forever, being government contracts. I didn't steal them, hid all of it at work. Tiny electronic parts that sold for .65 cents to everyone except the government, then it jumped to $6500 a piece. We sold over 250,000 pieces to them in a year. Payroll records that were for people that never existed. That company suddenly went "bankrupt," sold out, moved offshore.

Worked for a company that would put my hours in exactly at 10pm and exactly at 6am...not exactly when I punched in and out. I started keeping a log, documenting the times when I punched in and out. Brought this up to payroll and she blew me off until I showed her my little book. Then, she tried to cover herself by saying they were able to "round " up hours. No. No. They DID do this to the people who were working on their Visas which I'd criminal. They felt they couldn't stand up for themselves, worried they would be fired or worse...I left that company. F them...did get time corrected....be mindful of your check...take action and document.

i never worked in this place, and i can't give details, but i'd like to tell you all a few things about this place that aren't closely kept secrets and let you put two and two together. -our city had to compete with other cities to get this place with us. we expected them to provide much-needed industrial jobs to the city they chose. my city won by selling the land it would build on for ONE DOLLAR. -they hired a lot of people in my city- at first. not long after opening, mor and more foreigners came in, from all over the world, to work at this facility. gradually, preexisting canadian workers are phased out. -as this was happening, there were some news stories of canadian companies abusing foreign worker programs to get more of these foreign workers to work for them. these stories faded into obscurity, but there are plenty of better-circulated news segments about employers wanting more immigrants to come to canada because "canadians won't work." -the company was supposed to provide well-payed jobs, but as more foreign workers come in, i noticed that they all seemed very poor. they took the bus to and from work; my family, some of whom have been employed by this company at one point or another, often participated in charity events to help these workers make ends meet. for worker from one particular nation, the company had built tenements in all but name. many of the rest live multiple families to a house, saving up to buy property so they could become landlords. i couldn't tell you why they didn't go home, or find work elsewhere in the city, but things are looking up for the foreign workers and their families. some of them are in management positions now, and their kids, generally speaking, seem to be doing very well for themselves.
