I've had a friend go to Tijuana and in the first hour of being there just walking from the hotel to his cab he was followed down the street by 3 men and he was being yelled at from behind but he didn't look back and hurried to his cab. The driver said you have to watch out at all times. Tijuana is a beautiful city but extremely dangerous for violent crimes.

I love Baltimore. It's one of my favorite cities, and I had some incredible times there, but I can easily see how it would be the most dangerous. We stayed in groups after sunset, and spent most of our time in the better areas. It's a shame because it's a beautiful city.

Chicago isn't really that dangerous lol people just always think Chicago cause a lot of years it has the most TOTAL murders in the US. But cities with less population like Detroit, Baltimore, and St. Louis have a WAY HIGHER murder per capita than Chicago.

Crazy, I lived in Tijuana and now I'm just across the border from there. I feel comfortable there and never in danger or fear for my life. It's crazy to think the MOST VIOLENT/DANGEROUS CITY ON THE PLANET is my comfort zone lol But it's always gonna be my 2nd home. Now my daughters in the other hand --- I hate them living there. My baby mama just took them across the border without my permission, approval, and consent... and The useless courts outc here day they can't do anything about it cause they're in a different country. Currently have a lawyer who's trying to help me figure out how get them back to the States and get custody of them. I hate them living in The Most Dangerous City in the World full of cartel violence. Anyways, great video, guys... keep it up! 👍🏼

The South Side of Chicago is synonymous with violence here in America. New Orleans is known for being one of the more impoverished US cities, and there's a correlation between poverty and crime, but it doesn't have a reputation of being one of the murder capitals of America. When I think about New Orleans crime, I think about the looting that took place after Katrina and drunk and disorderly conduct on Mardi Gras. I don't think about murder per se. That scene from National Lampoon's Vacation where Clark drives through a sketchy neighborhood was set in St. Louis, so that city has had a bad reputation for at least 40 years now.

Mexico is beautiful, its industry for tourism is huge. These cities do not really represent the overall landscape about how it is to visit. Sure you have to be careful anywhere you go as a foreigner but it should not discourage you to visit such an amazing country

Idk how accurate this is so take it with a grain of salt (dave disclaimer) but I heard that america is gonna move a lot factory work from china/asia to mexico cause of the cheap and huge labor force and mexico could transform into a super power in the next few decades or so.

That will never happen in a million years unles the cartels are eradicated....which I don't see happening any time soon.
@marcoszavala8435
@marcoszavala8435 Жыл бұрын
@@lazyblazer it has already began years ago, it doesn't bother the cartels. Dozens of American companies or foreign especially factories or car manufacturing companies have been thriving in Mexico. Cartels know there are limits as to who they can mess with.
@lazyblazer
@lazyblazer Жыл бұрын
@@marcoszavala8435 Yes you are right in that regard but my point was that the cartels are already in bed with China... How do you think the fentanyl supply kept flowing into Mexico during covid lockdowns? China. Where does 95% of the fentanyl end up....America. The point is that if America keeps helping to bolster Mexico's economy they are only emboldening China's negative influence against themselves. China is using Mexico in more ways than one to help weaken America.
@marcoszavala8435
@marcoszavala8435 Жыл бұрын
@@lazyblazer I feel like these are two separate issues. Everyone know about fentanyl, where it comes from and how it gets to to the states, who it affects and who profits. But the original comment is talking about legitimate businesses, and how they are helping Mexico thrive as an economic powerhouse. This was the plan that started with trump and the Mexican president and Biden seems to be going along with. COVID helped Mexico in the way the chain supply was exposed. Hundreds of companies saw that depending on Chinese manufacturing and shipping was a disaster and preferred moving to Mexico or planning on moving, I can give you a list of dozens of big companies that have moved there. I'm born and raised in Mexico btw .
@lazyblazer
@lazyblazer Жыл бұрын
@@marcoszavala8435 I was only using fentanyl as one example of what is going on. Yes legitmate US businesses are moving to Mexico but only for profit margin. Again, as long as Mexico is a corrupt country due to insane cartel influence and control, Mexico has no chance of "becomming a super power in the next couple decades" as a legitament non corrupt nation. As a native Mexican you of all people should know this to be true. Did you know that China is outsourcing manufactuing/jobs MASSIVELY into Mexico? Not even because it's necessarily cheaper, but because they want a stronger foothold in Mexico than the US has. China is thinking long term and they believe they absolutely need Mexican sympathy in the future in order to fight America.

@@camerontamiko6145yet the media will have you believe both places are war torn despite having the lowest murder rates since the 60s. The unfortunate irony with so many locations on this list being that I bet they have some of the most beautiful places to visit historically, culturally, and geographically. It's always quite helpful to know locals anywhere you visit, but it may be absolutely necessary to know locals in certain places and I'd bet you could still walk away with a great experience. IMHO.

Detroit is nowhere near Beautiful, there was a year you could buy homes for one dollar in certain areas because nobody wanted to move there, and it's all abandoned burned out houses. I've been to Tijuana back in the early 2000's kids pickpocketing and lots of prostitues and bars.

From my experiences, Tijuana isn't as dangerous for tourists as it is for locals because the city relies on tourism. Most of the murders there can probably be attributed to rival drug gangs offing each other. Living in San Diego for 10 years and crossing the border frequently with and without guides, the locals seem to be pretty quick to call the police when they see sketchy people about. Sure, you have to worry about pickpockets, robberies and corrupt cops looking to shakedown a foreigner, but I've never been afraid of being murdered when I was there. I was more afraid of violent crime in San Diego than in Tijuana.

Daz, I didn't go back and look, but I thought you and the blokes did a video about the top ten crime cities in the US in 2022/21 (I think it said 22 but was actually 21?) Anyway, yeah, so I knew St Lew-iss would be on there. No one in the US says St Leweee. The summer I turned 14 (1973) my sister's husband was stationed at Fr Bliss tx which is near El Paso, which, on the Mexican side of the border is Juarez. Anyway day my sister went down and the got an apartment off base and I went and stayed for 6 weeks. Any afternoon we had $5 between us, we'd walk the bridge (1 penny to go into Mexico, two to come back) and walk around and barter for stuff we didn't need. We'd never bartered before and found it great fun. I have never been anywhere else in Mexico, but whenever I've heard anything about El Paso or Juarez, my ears perk up. So I've known for years now that it's no longer safe for young women such as we were to even go across the border like we did, let along run up and down the streets shopping. El Paso has been on and off the dangerous cities list, as well. A border town, with large military base - just asking for trouble.

Its funny he mentioned the Honduran lad, because its ironic that the friendliest and most welcoming, generous and open people I have ever met have been from Latin American countries like Honduras, Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil, who all suffer from very high murder rates and violence, and the least friendly and open were from very affluent countries like Switzerland, Monaco and Denmark, as well as from the more affluent parts of places in the UK, not all but just far more closed off in general

They just built a brand new prison with 40k inmate capacity and the president is really cracking down on gangs. I just watched a video on it few days ago. I'm betting Chicago and Memphis are pretty high.

There are nice areas of Detroit: downtown, Midtown, Corktown, etc … near the core of the city. Then some close suburbs that are great like Gross Pointe. The city of Detroit is actually very large area-wise, so the revitalization efforts have focused on sub areas (like those mentioned) rather than everything all at one. I think of it as a donut with the center being the Ren Cen…. Stay in the donut hole (downtown/midtown) or outside the donut (past ~9 mile / middlebelt) and you are fine. Just don’t hang out in the donut itself if you’re not familiar.

I would hope a list like this wouldn't make someone avoid these places. I mean, most of the murders that make the cities make this list can be localized to a few square miles in most cases for cities on the lower end of the list, at least. There are some incredibly nice places on this list, with certain areas anyone with common sense can avoid.
