Wouldn't be a ski video without a bunch of comments stating how easy the run is compared to East Coast/Canada/Colorado etc.. Strangely when you click on those commenters there's never any video evidence of their awesome ski ability across that rugged terrain. Anyway, awesome job on this run. Keep practicing and you might be able to handle the mighty mountains of Vermont with their 200m vertical. Lol

Steep doesnt make hard or difficult, add trees and cliffs to negotiate, a shoot that's only wide enough for half a turn and were talking difficulty. Really difficult level stuff should have a mandatory air like the PARASHOOT run at Solitude utah. Or the Ortavox shoot on evergreen ridge same resort. I was expecting something like Great Scott at snowbird at least where you negotiate cliff bands on an arrete to access the steep open run

Actually the steepest black run in Auris is called "La fuma", not this one. But it is not too often open. Small bushes are even growing on it ;). The "col de cluy" shown here is nevertheless a very nice run with some steepness, but nothing scary. It was in a really good conditions with fresh snow on the video. It can have much bigger moguls and be icy.

well done, but I agree doesn't look harder than "great scott" snowbird; alta or any double blacks at mammoth (off the peak). it all depends on snow though. I still find "the swiss wall" one of the most challenging slopes because the moguls tend to get HUGE. But, to be honest unless there are cliffs to jump or really narrow couloirs it's all the same and no big deal. The view though! , man I miss the Alps.

Seemed to be pretty good conditions, would be a little more tricky if all sheet ice. It's nice and wide too, but that may be a bit of a curse if less experienced skiers are using the entire width and not turning tight down a single line of moguls. Would love to give it a go someday. Not a massive fan of flat connecting Pistes either.....you were going mad fast and still nearly didn't make that top traverse. Boarders must hate that?

The difficulty is the conditions. That hill looks like a safe piece of cake as there are no cliffs or trees to avoid in case of a spill. Looks pretty icy though, that always ups the difficulty level. For reference, I ride Mt. Hood Meadows in Oregon. Pretty safe, but some areas offer serious pucker factor.

Hi,my name is Sandro and i wanna tell you a little story. So since i watched this video the slope looked very steep and in Georgia the Soviet country next to Russia we have a really great ski resort Gudauri and in there is a mountain kudebi and on that is black diamond run it is 80% steep and it's only 950 meters long and i skied on that run one day and my knees were like burning!

@Sandro I know of the resort but only because of the unfortunate incident with the chair lift last year. It looks like a cool place to ski with over 1000 metre vertical descent and just from reading on the internet looks like good value heliskiing. THanks for your comment and sharing your story!

Thanks for the vid. When I did the Col de Cluy last year it was perfectly groomed every day and didn’t have any moguls. Did they change that from this year on?

I've never skied before, can someone tell me why there are just what look to be random tourists standing still on the slopes with skis on? Does the ski operator pay them to just look clueless, are they like obstacles and part of the experience that you have to avoid plowing over?

Groups go one at a time and wait for each other so there’s a lot of standing around :/

Plus, it's good to stop just to look at the beautiful scenery. Even if you ski often in places like this, it's still awe inspiring! Especially in pristine weather like this.

Le col de Cluy c'est facile. Il y a plus dur de l'autre coté. Sur Auris. Lafuma par exemple. Ou descendre en hors piste sous les pilonnes électriques entre le signal de l'homme et Huez.
