I was playing madden 19. Played head to head online. Person used patriots and nothing but split back field with 2RB(White, Burkhead), 2WR and TE. Dude kept killing me with HB wheel out of the back field. When I covered The back using corner the flat was left open. If I used backer then he would strike in the middle. Ill probably never see the person again online but damn. They were unstopable. Any suggestions that can counter this?

Eric I show on my channel that Mike SS 3 comes in everytime if you shift the LBs Right. He takes like 2 steps over. You can get the faster SS to come off the edge that way.

Nice breakdown of the Big Nickel! A tip on the Corner Blitz 3 I'd recommend you only run that with the ball is on the hashmark. If you do it that way the distance for the corner is shorter.

That "Corner Blitz 3" is very effective if you use it from the short-side of the field because it condenses the distance the CB has to run and your opponent is probably looking at the middle and opposite side of the field. I like to call it from "screen right" during the 2-minute drill as most people try to scramble right as they are waiting for plays to develop.

Pro tip* ideally you want your blitzers to NOT HAVE finesse or power move traits bc the blitzers will look to not engage with the oline. Also pursuit seems to help.

Good tips, also good to sprinkle in those blitz on 3rd in long and 2nd in long because most of the time its a pass and you can force them to throw a short pass to set up a fourth in long or 3 in long then mix in a cover 6 or cover 2 spy blitz and really generate some major heat with tough coverage to pass against

I went 164-132 in madden18 online in high matching ranking. This madden needs some patches, and it is also more realistic, espically on offense. The more i play, the better I get, but some things are different. The run game is the main difference but the way the players move and animate when cathcing passes on D and O is funky at times. Good video.

I figured it out it takes the second string strong safety. This is gonna be the new meta and base defense. You can play coverage, stop the run, and send heat on third down. You need the personnel to execute this which is a bit rough starting off but if you get like a Malcolm Jenkins or a Sean Taylor and put him at second string SS this could be nasty. Also it’s in every playbook apparently which just adds to its effectiveness in mut drafts and other things. Definitely looks good

Big Nickel was around in MADDEN 15!! They got rid of it as well as the PSYCHO NICKEL cuz they were tough formations to move the ball on.

VetteGetsEmWet ya the same thing quarterbacks do in real life. It’s called anticipation. You see when players are in certain positions there are really only a couple different things they can do. Presnap you see what those few possibilities are. So you adjust and give yourself a couple options if they do this I do this and u put multiple options on the table., postsnap they show you what they chose to do. Then you execute whichever option is open based on the post snap defense. It’s really simple. Some guy called Rodgers does it.....

This is a nice vid. If this playbook was being used online I suggest not using cover 6 or 9. It can get one play touchdowns on it against formations with 3 receivers on one side of the field. A dude named gutfox showed this when he was playing online.

Quick question though: Played a few games against the Eagles where they run the dreaded Shotgun-Wing Tight-Inside Cross play. It's so tough to stop cause there's two tight ends running shallow crossers, Ertz running an intermediate hitch route, Sproles running that wheel route, and the receiver doing a deep dig. Your starting SS drops down. I've been swapping cause my back up kept getting bombed on when he was deep haha. Ive Force alot of picks and TFLs in that formation. Good vid

I would suggest running 2 starting SS if you will be running this formation primarily. I was labbing/playing with this formation before he released this and I found having 2 good/starting quality SS is going to help. Cause like he said your starting SS drops down to play in the box and it leaves your backup SS up top.

I usually don’t even have enough time to be able to see what the offence comes out with, and decide what I want to audible and I’ll shift the line or call and audible and they snap it right away (AI). They also intercept so many of my passes... How do you control the defence and offence at the same time like back and fourth, are you using 2 controllers or is there a way to do it with one?

Great videos! Thank you for all of the tips. I hope you or someone reading answers this question. In 2018 you left a great video in regard to usering. You mentioned that when the play starts you can start out by holding down L1 so your defender starts off sticking to his coverage and then when you make a read you can break it at any point. I have already noticed on 2019 that does not work anymore. Is there another button or control that does the same function? Thank you for the help in advance.

It’s weird, i googled the controller book and it’s says that the button still does it. In parentheses it says when your player is not engaged. I didn’t really know what that meant. I then looked at last year’s and it said the same thing. In some scenarios holding L1 will have him move into his zone and sometimes it won’t. Definitely does not work like last year’s. Last year you were able to break route and then hold it again and he would go back to his assignment. Don’t know if they took it out or what. I also liked it to not run past a ball carrier as i tried to tackle them. Weird.
