Hello from suburbs of Mumbai and we have a good number of plants in your front and back yard. I will definitely try wood ash on some of my infested plants. I am having a serious mealy bug problem in my garden though and I am hoping to get some tips here. Can u make a video in details for a mealy bug attack and effective measures to prevent and control it? I have looked on KZbin and found a lot many videos that provide solution in this regards. But in most of the videos, the plants are small or less in number. In my case, I have around 10 hibiscus plants out of which, 2 are 10 feet, 3 are 5 feet, 3 others 4 feet and 2 are about 1 foot each in height. And most of them have mealy bugs infestations with severity ranging from medium to high. I have tried neem oil, soap water, chemical pesticides like imida chloropid and Roger that is available locally, biopesticides like Utkarsh Beveroz and all these are effective in getting rid of them only slightly and they are back to their original potential in a week. I also thoroughly wash the plants and sometimes manually wipe the infested areas of the plant and I have also tried hard trimming where in I have literally shaved of a fully grown tree from over 7 feet in height to almost 5 feet and the girth less than 2 feet in diameter. Still the mealy bugs don't retreat. The problem is ants and they take them all the way up the tree after I wipe them off Or use pesticide. Along with hibiscus, raat ki raani, chikoo, sitafal and a few other plants are also affected, but the problem is not as severe as in hibiscus. It seems that mealy bugs are liking the present hot and humid day time conditions. Thanks for reading through...
