He said he won a singing contest and the price was 1 week in France. Then he's still in France for 3 weeks. He doesnt want to go back in Venezuela because of the hunger, the violences but will come back later for his family. Then he says his song was a surprise (it is Coeur de pirate's song). Everyone cries, they say it was so emotional, something beautiful happened here. Very beautiful singer, beautiful musician. Coeur de pirate said she often though to stop making music, and then a moment like this helps her to remember why she is doig it. She never heard any cover of her song. It litteraly brings this song to life!

I remember seeing Coeur de Pirate in Toronto in 2018, and we applauded her after one song like halfway through the show (it wasn't anywhere near the end) and she started crying lol she's so appreciative of her fans and her art, which I think is a magnificent quality

I had already seen this video but i came back after seeing her interview about it. I relate so much with the boy, although for different reasons. For so many times her songs made me continue perusing something better, like learning French to hear her things the way they are, or restarting playing my guitar to sing them (which is being a great help to my health). Yadam comes from Venezuela. He won a singing contest organized by the Alliance Française, a French-speaking association that promotes the French language in the world. This contest allowed him to come to France for a few weeks ; he took the opportunity to participate in the "Nouvelle Star" (as American Idol in France). And it is on this song of "Coeur de Pirate" who is called "crier tout bas" (screaming all down) that he won in Venezuela. He learned french with Coeur de Pirate's songs. Yadam explained that life is difficult in Venezuela and coming to France is an opportunity for him to consider a new life for himself and his family. Beatrice the "Coeur de Pirate" singer was touched by this cover because she had never heard a cover of this song which is very important to her. Beatrice often wanted to stop the music and she said that she felt like a rebirth for her as an artist on hearing this cover because it is in moments like this that it reminds her why she sings.
