I recommeded this book to you 4 years ago, now I can’t believe I’m watching you rant about it I’M SO HAPPY YOU READ IT!!! 😭 Honestly I’m lost for words, I enjoyed every minute of you ranting in this video, and seeing all of your emotions because this is EXACTLY how I felt and we share the same thoughts! This is the FIRST BOOK I recommend to anyone who wants to read romance! This story will stay with me forever 🥲

Can you recommend romances like this, it doesn't have to be particularly historic just the nostalgia of these characters.

This triology is the type to remain inside you for a while. I need to heal first but Tatiana I stan her character she embodies so many women from the war. Thank you for the recommendation i could not stop thinking about her.Dimitri needs a hot slap what was he on 😂

I read this trilogy over 20 years ago and it's still the GREATEST Historical Fiction Romance series I've ever read, nothing else comes close to it! Tatiana and Shura have the most epic & realistic love story! I hope one day this series is adapted into a tv series like Outlander or a movie 💕

I agree that what happened and their reactions felt very real for the time period and because of all the trauma they went through. I liked that they weren't perfect. I wanted to scream at them both at different times. The first book was my favorite even though it gutted me. It just had me hanging on every word. There are books about Alexanders parents, which I haven't read yet. but i plan too. Even though I pretty much hate his parents haha i still want the full story. Also there is a book called Tatiana's Table which has some extra scenes of Tatia & Shura. Paullina Simons also has another book called Light at Lavelle, which i have heard people compare to the level of Bronze Horseman. I haven't read it yet but it's on my tbr. I'll add I am a fellow WW2 historical fiction junkie and I love Kate Quinn's books. The Rose Code, The Alice Network. All her books are unforgettable. Thanks for the review! I loved it!

I read this nearly 8 years ago. IT SHOOOOOOOK ME HARD! OMG… I have never read anything like it before and have never read anything like it since. Your reactions were literally mine. I hated Tatiana‘s family with the fire of 1000 suns and I could not stand how much she tried to think of others when they never thought of her. My heart was ripped open for the horrific things that they both had to survive and part of the beauty of this writing is that I felt so immersed in the book that I had to step away sometimes and remind myself that I wasn’t going through this. I absolutely love how it handles all these different, really difficult topics and yet at the same time we know that there’s horrible shit that happens and it’s not OK. We are grounded enough as readers to be able to read on and consider what we would do in their position and yet we empathize for them because they feel like real people to us. I just cannot love this book enough! It broke my heart to 1 million pieces and yet it was just an incredible experience. I hated what Alexander did with the whole cheating and all of his PTSD, but at the same time it just still made me love them for fighting through it all to be together forever.

The caption about PTSD and speaking to your fiancé SENT ME. I've never laughed so hard because it's true-- and I also do this to my husband when I read something that unsettles me. And he looks at me like I'm on something but listens fully. 😂

I love historical fiction/historical romance so much, it's hands down my favorite genre! I tend to gravitate towards the Regency/Victorian era, but the stakes always feel so much higher than contemporary even when war isn't the backdrop.

You got any recommendations? 👀
@midnightblack0716 күн бұрын
@@moretomary OMG YES! *raises sleeves haha* If you're looking for darker books, Kerrigan Byrne's Victorian Rebels (the first book isThe Highwayman--one of THE BEST) and Devil You Know series. Elizabeth Hoyt's Maiden Lane series (first book is Wicked Intentions) is another one. Sarah Maclean's books are also a great gateway to historical romance and have a bit of suspense/darker edge. Everyone loves Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake, but I really loved her Rule of Scoundrels series and the books published after that (A Rogue by Any Other Name is the first book) because she starts to get into London's underworld. And if you're in the mood for a Victorian history heavy historical that's really accessible, Evie Dunmore's Bringing Down the Duke brought TONS of new readers into the genre. :)

I’ve been thinking about revisiting this series and I think this video was the sign that I needed!!!! This is such an epic series. Definitely a heavy read. Also, I wish the author would re-record the audiobook.

So, I have never reread the third book because of some of those painful chapters. 😭I have never forgiven Alexander for causing so much disappointment, but he is still one of my top favorite characters. This series made me cry like no other books.

Bronze Horseman trilogy is the most epic love story I've ever read, it was perfection. Edited to add that I was heartbroken too when Alexander cheated on her but I think the author included it to show that he was flawed because we'd put him on a pedestal up till then. He was deeply jealous of Tatiana's life away from him at the hospital and with the doctor who wanted her and he reacted in the most immature way possible. As if he felt he was losing the hero worship that Tatiana always had for him and he wanted to punish her for it subconsciously and to feel he was still important and wanted. It also explains the way he spoke to her after finding out she was with the doctor and why he lost control and slapped her when she told him she didn't want his baby. But I also felt that he was truly remorseful after those events and that it was just a dark period in their relationship. It made their relationship feel more realistic, I mean like nothing can always be perfect when you're with someone for so many years. I also read the prequel duet about Alexander's parents, it was so beautiful and heart wrenching as well and I was always so mad at his father for his attitude and choices. It's soo sad at the end though. Unfortunately it's no longer on Amazon. The Nightingale was a 6 ⭐ read for me because it was 2 incredible stories perfectly woven together. Her newer book The Women is also excellent. I was personally underwhelmed by The Tatooist of Auschwitz. I've read better books from inside the camps.

I DEVOURED _The Bronze Horseman_ within a few days! Nothing existed outside of these pages while I was reading it. I read the last 200 pages in a day because I could not put it down. An epic, painful, traumatising and profound love story that I find myself returning to every now and then to experience all the emotions again 🩷

I’ve never consider this series a romance. It’s a historical fiction love story. I think that helped me not expect what I would from a romance. With that said, I read this 10 years ago and I wasn’t able to finish book 3. My mom was sick at the time and the series reminds me of my mom. I was too triggered to continue but now I need to google the whole thing again because it’s been in the back of my mind for years.
