Best apocalypse vehicle is a 1980's diesel manual vehicle, so you can make your own peanut oil (bio diesel) no electronik or whatever so you can even bumpstart ... Not all this nanie-technology, 😊😊😊

Fun fact: Fuel (such as Gasoline and Diesel) only last about 2 years in storage (degradation starts to set in after 6-8 months, i.e.: your vehicle will need more [degraded]fuel to make the same ammount of work as it would with less [normal]fuel, a problem that will only get worse with time, peaking at about 2 years, when the fuel will be so bad that it'll clog and brick the engine entirelly). So, to make a long story short: In a *REAL* Apocalypse, where the infrastructure to pull Petroleum out of the ground and process it into fuel no longer exists, all of these big chunks of metal would be useless after 2 years. In a *REAL* apocalypse, the long-term hardcore survivors would use electric vehicles. Good quality batteries can last up to 10k cycles and can be stored indefinitively in propper conditions. Just go to California and take every Tesla Powerwall and solar panels you can find and bam: virtually infinite fuel for your ride. If you don't die from other circumstaces, it'll last enough time with very little maintenance untill civilization reboots. cheers.

But ok, lets say there was a global EMP (for whatever reason), its an easy fix. Change the solenoid usually solves it. To protect from future EMPs: faraday cage. All done.

Honestly, movies and pop culture in general make nuclear bombs seem a lot more deadly than they actually are. Not to say that they aren’t dangerous; they are, a lot. But as long as you’re not close to an urban center, you’re going to be fine. Rural communities 100+miles away from urban centers wouldn’t even notice the war.
