I bought a Ski conversion kit for the front of my UDR and paddle tires for the rear. Installed them last winter and took it out first snow. WHAT A BLAST!

It looses some of its character with the sway bars; the body roll and misbehaving is what the UDR is meant to be!

yeah, maybe slightly softer would be better but stock is too soft it rolls too easy

I agree, maybe slightly stiffer sway bar over stock, but this one essentially locks the L and R wheels together. They operate so freely when stock.

As usual, nice work, Kev. Yes, the UDR's handling always makes it seem awesome. Even if those upgrades are excellent, I'm not sure I would choose to use them. When I installed aftermarket shocks on my Slash, I noticed a significant shift in the truck's personality. One day, I'll go back and change it.

Nice work as always Kev. Yeah the UDR always looks so cool with the way it handles. As nice as those upgrades are, I'm not sure I'd go that route. I put aftermarket shocks on my Slash, and it changed it so much I felt it changed the character of the truck. I'm going to change it back one day. Those kids at Redfin are awesome!

I'm torn about the UDR. They are on sale right now and I've had to resist the urge. I already have a Baja Rey which is built with a similar level of complexity, and it is one of my favorite cars to look at and by far my least favorite to work on. The Baja Rey is put together like a 3D jigsaw puzzle, and everything important is buried under 50,000 body panels, tiny screws, etc. The UDR looks a little easier to work on, but not much.

Nice slo-mos, Kev! I just had to decide between the UDR and a Maxx Slash. I went with the MSlash and added taller shocks, sway bars and tune-able top arms in the rear for camber cuz it's so heavy. Kinda what you did with the UDR, but in reverse vis-a-vis scale and basher qualities, What do you think - am I going to get as big am RC-smile as you?

Aw shit a new UDR vid There's a company called Amalgam RC that makes a lot of custom machined aluminum parts for the UDR, one such thing is a rear fender widener plate so you can clear wider offsets (and things like paddles).

Yeah, it's because the traxxas UDR is a pretty accurate scale model of a trophy truck. It has a complex suspension system that is designed specifically to soak up bumps jumps and whoops. Unlike most RC's that have a basic double wishbone setup designed for durability and simplicity.

Another "upgrade" that every UDR owner should do is put tape over the rear wheel arches. This stops them from scratching the paint off the body. Best seen at 11:13

I recently had a drive of a very similar V8 buggy only 2wd but huge front suspension travel and a 4 link solid axle rear. 400 hp LS auto. If you ever get the chance I would Highly reccomed having a go in one. They drive over 2~3 foot high mounds at speed 100 kph plus like they are not there. You should give it a go Kev if you ever get a chance.

Kev I disagree. I think the revo 3.3 has the best suspention. Yes the UDR is more realistic and possibly even cooler. The revo suspension is better, you get about 5” of travel. Where as on the UDR you only have 3” in the front and 4” in the rear. So I think the revo has better suspension
